Those who frequently listen to Akon know adeptly he can switch between his playboy persona and his rough-and-tumble street game, but he’s never had the opportunity to exercise both sides on the same song…until now. On the third official single off the forthcoming Freedom, ‘Kon once again ends up in the club, popping bottles next to some fine models. When a few of these good-looking ladies, played here by Somalian duo and Universal Motown labelmates Sweet Rush, bring up their concerns about his heartbreaking ways, though, that is when the real fun begins. Smirking back at them, Kon admits that he is simply a Troublemaker by nature. Freedom is currently set to drop on December 2, with Troublemaker‘s official single release to follow eleven days later.

This is typical Akon right here, not that its a bad thing or a good thing in this case...it is just a bit expected. It sounds kind of like the Colby O'Donis track he recently did and a few others. Akon's voice is always smooth though. The beat is decent. The more I listen to it, the more I don't hate it. This can go into Rotation...but for how long?

This will be a good album filler, but it's not a strong choice of follow up to his current hits. The vocals are typical Akon, with a catchy melody and flow. This production is nice though, it would have sounded really well on Rihanna or a female singer. Not standing out to me, but typical Akon never goes under the pile for me!

It's funny how after reading all these reviews, I was still excited to hear the song. After the first minute I began browsing the web and forgot the song was even on. Yes, it is a good production, but like everyone else said it sounds like all his other songs almost as if I had been listening to this songs for several months on the radio, lol.

Unfortunately the comments above are pretty spot on, his style is far too repetitive and formulaic. I really think he needs to reinvent himself a bit or just kick it up with a fresh & different approach to his beats. In terms of quality, this track is definitely well produced and using Sweet Rush gave it some quality. Come on Akon!!! Bring out something fresh from konvict records!

You already know i had to comment on ma boi AKON! Hes still #1 in my book!!, This song reminds me of something that Timberland would produce, but its still FIREE!!! BANGGERR!! Freedom is the #1 album on my list right now and prolly will be for the rest of the year, but to be honest, I'm starting to get more into the Rock genre

Akon can makes the catchiest of songs, lol. I can't wait for "Freedom". This is like the Akon version of "The Way I Are", except I actually think this is better, though I haven't heard "The Way I Are" in a long while, so that may be off. It's not a computer-speakers sorta song, really, Akon's aiming for a dope radio/club song. And all four in the Booth get that.

I'm with you Dj Z, everything he puts out is playable everywhere and I think it's a good thing. Of course originality is always welcome, but if something is generic but good why not appreciate it as well? I personally like Akon...it's true that his joints are all the same, catchy and kinda radio-friendly, but in this way he lets himself become known worldwide! In Italy hip hop is hardly heard but I hear Right Now and I'm So Paid by almost everyday day on the radio and I'm happy about that. The best part of this song is the hook in my opinion, I'm feelin the background music...banger!
