Times have been turbulent for Senegalese sensation Akon, but no trial or tribulation has stopped the multi-talented artist from releasing his currently-charting single, I’m So Paid. For the new, video version of the record, Akon’s signature high-pitched tone and Weezy F. Baby’s swagtastical soliloquies are joined by Michael Phelps’ inspiration, Young Jeezy, who contributes his classic witticisms to this self-produced track. Though the Konvict Muzik CEO has overcome Trouble and been Konvicted for some of his actions, it is his current Freedom that both he and his fans value the most.
Listen to Akon's I'm So Paid (Video Version) ft. Young Jeezy & Lil' Wayne More songs from Akon
i was hoping for a lot more. sounds pretty much same as original track. maybe its me i place a very high expectation on all 3 artists, they normally set bar above and beyond any other artist out there especially remix tracks. still in rotation.
Go back to the original and read my post. No reason to really comment anymore, the song is the exact same with a pretty hot added Jeezy verse. I'm glad they didn't take out one of Akon's verses, because both of them are mad hot. Still a 5/5 for me, this one has been bumping over at my place all week.
Idk...I wasn't really feeling this one much, and with all the names on here, I was expectin much more...maybe it was the beat.I personally think Wayne and Jeezy outshined Akon, but that's just my opinion. I'll give it another try though, but for right now, its only ok for me.
It's not a remix people! It's the video version! That means the "video single" includes Jeezy. It's not supposed to be changed. The "original version" was decent. Jeezy definitely doesn't sound out of place. What's this retarded talk about something not being somebody's "type of track"? That's silly . Hip hop artists are evolving constantly. There's not reason for Jeezy not to spit on different style joints. Also, he acknowledged right on the track about the reason for the horse voice (a lot like Kanye did on Ghostface Killah & Ne-Yo's "Back Like That Remix") No one should be commenting on his voice quality when he's aware of it and made it known. This track still has hot production, Jeezy added to it well to it. It gets an upgraded rating to 4 stars for that.
jeezy takes away from the song... michaelhannah I agree artists should evolve but jeezy really does not fit well on this joint.. His verse is impressive, follows the beat, but it doesn't match for me. I think it will grow on me though; sometimes an artist sounds out of place but it works out, (P,T Remix for example). so i won't let it hurt the initial rating
Well, actually Jeezy makes this a banger! Saying he was “out of place” can only be taken as meaning he was too good for this! Better than the “singing” Wayne! I gave the original rating 3* rating, cuz "If the subject was more relevant, it'd be classic material! I prefer any rapper without the voice box, but at least on R&B tracks it's acceptable." The chorus could've been better, more uplifting/exciting, but it was kept too laid back like the rest of Akon’s vocals.
Great track from Akon. Can't wait for the new album! Weezy and Jeezy compliment this track perfectly. I wish DJBooth would start featuring music videos!
4/5 stars.
This song is not popin to me. I just can't get into the beat for some reason. However Jeezy murdered it. Weezy didn't knock it out to me this time for a change.
This song is really growing on me. I think Jeezy sounded great on here, and think they should just throw him on the "original" version. It kinda breaks up the monotonany (sp?) of usual R&B songs that feature hip-hop artists. They always seem to have 2 verses from the singer, and then the rapper will come through at the end and tear the track up, eventually outshining the R&B artist. I feel like this just "flowed" a little better than the version w/o Jeezy.
Even though it has been said by a few members AND made clear four times on this very page... this is NOT a REMIX. It is merely an alternative version of the song, which will coincide with the video. Jeezy adds a lot to this song and his inclusion was a good move. This Kon album is going to be flame.
Konvict is doin' big things this year... they drop artist after artist... this right here is jus Akon showin' the world what's bout to go down... Konvict is takin' over...
This is a pretty dope track. Im enjoying 'Right Now' and the original version of this as well as other leaked akon songs on the web, and am really looking forward to Freedom, its gonna be Go0o0o0od!!! Jeezy is a nice addition to the song and makes an already good song better. Something about him in this reminded me of Kardinal Offishall?? Maybe Im just crazy... This is 5 Stars. Very catchy and should bang pretty hard for a while.
thatdudedan.. WOw LMFAO, do you really think Akon of all people, who has been out a hell of a lot longer than The Dream, is jackin his style? LOL!!! Freedom come on and get here!! Akon still on top of my list, #1!! but i like the original "version" better, jeezy doesnt really match..
Dj Z thanx for explaining...I was about to write "what's new here compared to the previous version"? I didn't really notice there was Jeezy, I didn't remember he wasn't in the other edit...I had to listen to this again! What can I say? This song is rather good, both album and video version...it's a banger!
The song goes oh so hard. Easily one of his best tracks. I can't wait to hear this on the radio. And I prefer the video version. Jeezy just add something lil' sumthin' sumthin' special. I dunno exactly what it is but it sounds good.
Who is that singing as an echo in the 2nd part of the chorus. for some reason that part sticks out to me and makes the rest of this song a straight classic.
