After having spent the past year in the studio working on projects for Young Jeezy, T-Pain, Obie Trice, Styles P and others, Akon is finally back with a new single of his own. “Smack That,” featuring Eminem is an upbeat collaboration that truely showcases Akon‘s ability to sound perfect over any tempo beat. First released back in June of 2004, Akon’s debut album Trouble yielded five singles before reaching platinum status. However, something tells me this time around things will be very different. Look for Konvicted to eat up holiday sales and reach platinum status before February of 2007.
