A&E (Masta Ace & EDO. G) - Little Young
Artist: A&E (Masta Ace & EDO. G)
Producer: M-Phazes
Album: Arts & Entertainment
Label: Traffic
Though plenty of hip-hop vets have stepped up to the mic to denounce the current state of the genre, most have limited their criticisms to metaphors and generalities—until now. Masta Ace and EDO. G, two Northeastern greats who recently joined forces as A&E, aren’t afraid to name (lots of) names, and on this newly-leaked track of their forthcoming debut LP they do just that; over M-Phazes’ piano-driven boardwork, the seasoned emcees tell all the “Little Young” rappers currently dominating the mainstream to get off hip-hop’s neatly-manicured lawn, or else! Older heads will undoubtedly appreciate the message the collaborators bring to this track, but even a young whippersnapper like myself can’t deny Ace and EDO’s sharp-as-ever skills on the mic (and they do have a point about the surplus of unimaginative stage names). Whether you’ve been around since hip-hop’s's inception or you’re simply old at heart, you won’t want to miss the time-tested lyrical fire these two will bring on their Arts & Entertainment LP, due out October 6th.

OH shit Masta Ace one of my favs! There is alotta lil mf in the game. I have a feeling this was not meant for the masses. Cause some will not be too happy about the lil young shit! They are not gonna make many friends with this one. I found it relevant and dope though.

This song makes me laugh... and laugh... and laugh... and then laugh some more. Lots of "old school" rappers do not understand the youth movement of today (and who could blame them). However, Masta Ace and EDO. G are spot on here.

Crazy! wordplay ...
This track is what you'd expect from two vets - them chanting down all of the "Lil" and "Young" rappers out there .... BUT there are a few "Young" MCs out there which are 'Young' meaning eager and full of energy and NOT 'Young' meaning being ignorant/inexperienced. I know one, do you ??? |

Great to see Masta Ace and Ed stay relevant with a pretty hot song. I used to roll with Masta Ace solo joint "The Ride" and I was in Italy in 92 rockin Edo. G. and the Bulldogs. The both had nice wordplay and even though they didnt dis any of the Lil or Young... somebody will get their feelings hurt. Bet on it.

Nice and Entertaining Lyrics. But they aren't my lyrical favorites. In fact, I won't put any Masta Ace track on my Ipod.
