Thanks to the success of Ace Hood‘s second single, Ride (and its star-studded remix), it seems as though the long-delayed Gutta has finally secured a release date: November 18. Thanks to the support of top-shelf industry DJ/promoter/hype man DJ Khaled, and his status as one of XXL Magazine’s Top 10 Freshmen, the Deerfield Beach, Florida native has already picked another single. Drawing obvious inspiration from Def Jam labelmate Young Jeezy‘s summer anthem, Put On, Hood performs Get Em Up with nearly identical delivery, rhyme pattern, and “eastside…westside…southside…” ad-libs on the hook, over another heavy-banging Drumma Boy beat. Still, when Jeezy put all the pieces together, the result was a smash hit; there’s no reason why Ace’s Get Em Up shouldn’t be the same.

The production from Drumma Boy was solid as always. This is one of the better joints I've heard from Ace Hood...PROBABLY BECAUSE HE STRAIGHT SWAGGERED JACKED JEEZY ON THE TRACK. C'mon...like we wouldn't notice. The song without knowing he jacked style would be a three....knowing it's been done before makes it a 1, so I will go, as Redd Foxx would say "right in the groove" and give him a 2, cuz the song is a little hot...but just knowing it's been done already discredits him.

The beat is hella hot! I would of rated this higher but it sounds too much like Put On and I know that if Jeezy had the opportunity to get on this beat he would of smashed it. Ace Hood has 3 word lines and that works for Jeezy better. This will prob get radioplay cuz it has the appeal. I want a remix to this wit jeezy on it. In rotation

Drumma Boy seems to be the hottest producer out there now..but I can definately see why...his beats are bangin...and I think Ace Hood is a talented artist...besides having an annoying "sidekick" (DJ Khaled)...give Khaled credit for bringing this talent into the hip-hop game..as for this song with the great beat by Drumma Boy and Ace Hoods great flow and delivery..I will definately bump this in the ride

His swag on this song is like Jeezy's on this track... Alot. But just because of "Ride", I'ma rock with him for a bit longer. It seems to me that he does a lot of Yelling, and rhyming but he doesn't say much...ya know???

Ace can rap make no mistake about it. And he is young too, so he has room to grow. However he gotta get off that jeezy shit. Even Jeezy ain't quite talkin bout the same shit any more. That flow is his, lets not rule out the fact that he may have ghostwritten this song.

I actually dont mind Ace, the dude can rap & with Khaled's connections with the big name producers in the game, he has a bright future. This track is good, though Ride is probably my favorite Ace Hood song to date.
