Ace Hood may well be the most driven man in the game—as the We the Best emcee made clear in his most recent interview with DJ Z, he’s more than willing to put in Overtime to become a musical Champion. How did he develop the stamina necessary to grind all day and party all night without ever breaking a sweat? Well, he didn’t—as he explains on this newly-released cut, he was simply Born an OG. The Nasty Beatmakerz pull out all the stops here; featuring sweeping strings, scorching synths, and a heaping helping of arena-rock guitar riffage, their beat is bombastic enough to overwhelm many emcees—of course, that’s no problem for Ludacris, whose booming bark is so powerful he could probably rap a dope and completely comprehensible verse over a 10-jackhammer backing band. Luda’s virtuosic performance also seems to bring out the best in Ace; though his delivery sounds almost subdued in comparison to the guest verse champ’s, his breakneck flow will leave few unimpressed. Though not slated for promotion as an official single, this high-powered cut is sure to boost street anticipation for Ace’s sophomore LP, Ruthless (set to drop June 30th).

This song is siccckkkkkk!!!!! Ludacris came real hard on this great flow. Ace Hood is finally coming into his own. His verses were real nice and the hook was great. The production was also very good. Overall great colab between the two keep it up!!!

Ace has been more than impressing me lately. Everything I've heard from this new project leads me to believe that he will be a well recognized artist in the hip hop community once the album is released. Great work recruiting Luda over to this, they both did stellar over that hard production.

Everyone always talks about Ace Hood bringing that HIGH ENERGY. Remember Luda? It's great hearing both 110% artists going at it over this Khao beat on the same record. More than solid album track.

really? Ace could've came sooo much harder, Luda was almost, but not fully at a banger status. with a pretty coo rapper and a hitmaker like luda, this shudve been classic. |

The production on here is dope especially the guitar melody. Ludacris is usually "The Master of Outshining Main Artists" but Ace Hood holds his own with his agressive fast flow. Ludacris is dope as usual you know what your getting from him. This is dope!

Luda is nice on here (but he is almost always nice). The beat is good. I like Ace Hood, but I think he may only have one way to rap. His flow is still nice on here, but I don't know if I can take a full album of him. This is a BANGER track though, I can't front!

Strong production and, as always, Ludacris kills it. My only beef with this track is it sounds unmastered. Maybe it's just my computer speakers but the track seems as if it's still being worked on. Maybe It'll sound better in the car tomorrow.

Damn. Luda...There's a reason he's STILL in my supergroup (yeah, I still remember that conversation lol), and this right here proves it, YET AGAIN. Ace could have come harder. He's on the brink of greatness, but he hasn't quite reached the peak. I promise that when he does, though, everybody else will need to watch themselves. Overall, however, great track. I'd hit replay on this.

Well, same dissenting voice among all...I don't think this song is so great, at least not so great to deserve 4-5 stars. The producers deserve a good rating but them two don't sound very good. I've heard better performances by them! I wouldn't listen to this again, they hurt my ears.

After I heard the 1st verse I was already prepared to rate it at least a 3. I've been waiting for Ace Hood to grow on me and I must admit his spitfire rhyme style mostly held up with Luda's delivery and metaphors. I can hear this in the background as I'm playing the new Fight Night!

This is the first time I've ever heard Ace Hood...I'm gonna buy his CD right now. I love Luda, and I honestly thought the rest of Ace Hood's stuff wasn't gonna be as good as this song, but after listening to previews on iTunes I can't wait to listen to the entire CD!

I've been listening to this song for a few weeks now, and still aint sick of it. Ludacris has absolutely killed this song in a brilliant way, his energy and flow is kixin' it alright. Ace Hood, Overtime was a good start for him and then I fell for champion, amazing aong. Born an OG really does it for me, he has really torched it en is on top of his game in this track. 5 solid stars
