Ace Hood - Bout Me ft. Ballgreezy
Artist: Ace Hood
Featuring: Ballgreezy
Producer: Cardiak
Album: Ruthless
Label: We The Best/Def Jam/IDJMG
On his latest street single, Bout Me, Khaled protégé Ace Hood makes a few shocking admissions: for example, he doesn’t really consider himself a G, and he hates making money… just kidding! The truth is, of course, just the opposite. Set for inclusion on his sophomore LP (set to drop this summer), the cut finds the Ruthless rapper joining forces with fellow South Floridian Ball Greezy to make it known that he’s all about his paper, and that he does what he does, first and foremost, for the streets. Both collaborators bring plenty of energy to the time-tested subject matter, and the appropriately-named Cardiak adds to the pulse-pounding vibe, kicking off the low-frequency, synth-driven instrumental with his trademark ‘heart monitor flatlining’ effect. This hard-hitting cut is sure to please the “young O.G.‘s” the emcee shouts out on his hook—here’s hoping this audience will do their part to make Ruthless the success Hood deserves, not a repeat of Gutta‘s disappointing sales numbers.

Georgia Girl, you took the words right out of my mouth lol. First thing I thought of when I saw his pic was, "Damn, it's Weezy!" lol. This song got fire production, but not near good enough flow for classic status. Sorry, but I can't even really give it 4 stars. The production doesn't save what is in my opinion a mediocre flow from both artists. Just in rotation.

This beat is KILLIN!, Ace went down on my radar there for awhilee, All of his other songs got repetitive as hellzz to me quickly.. and Greezy gives off a Luda esque feel on here I think, Im likin it

Well he has proven a few people wrong on this track with this being a pretty solid joint with no industry heavyweights on it. The beat is good and Ace & Greezy perform well on the mic.

Anyone else sense the irony in Ace's opening statement? If you don't get what I'm saying than listen again while checking his soundscans. Lol. I've got to be honest, there is no career that I dread more than that of an Ace Hood-esqe rapper. The man survives solely off connections despite having relatively no lyrical ability (although Ace has a good flow; his only true shine). Anyways, this track continues the trend set with "Cash Flow", "Ride" and etc.; strong production with a good flow and single-minded lyrics. However, unlike past singes, no big names; which is certainly a plus, giving Ace time to demonstrate whatever talent he has and it's somewhat impressive. I'll put it in rotation.

Ace always has energy. This track was decent, but I like that Ace Hood is putting out a track without a big name addition. The hook was tight. 3.5

To me Ace hood does a lot of yelling, That it. hes decent enough to have some songs here on there. (With a feature) I guess I'm still mad about the Freshman cover...

I prefer Ace on records like BOUT ME. The concept and the material is nothing new (go figure), but his delivery is spot on. Street records are by far his best efforts. He outshines Ballgreezy by 2 football fields.

Been supporting ace hood since I first heard he got signed by DJ Khaled. Ace Hood brings his usual energy, but I feel like he does better on more pounding beats where the beat combined with his energy = an amazing energetic song typically. He killed his verse. Ball Greezy was a decent addition, nothing special but not horrible. I liked the hook. In rotation as a nice ace hood song.

I couldn't call this betta than OK. Ace brings the energy and he sounds kinda cool, he jus ain't nothin special. Ball Greezy is even less special. Production is cool, but the subject matter is just too boring for me.

What was Ace Hood was on XXL cover for...?!?
This is the best he can do! It's sad, but it is. He only got the flow and the HOT beats. |

Decent beat, sometimes those synth bass productions start sounding the same. The hook wasn't that great, Ball Greezy is another mediocre street rapper, Ace delivered his typical high energy flow, its impressive sometimes, but like his debut Gutta showed, can be tiresome over numerous tracks of the same flow. I'm looking for something, different in Ace, but this is another decent street joint.

songs like this fits ace hood. But it's sadly the beat is good and verse sounds too generic to me. Jeezy or Luda should've jumped on this track they could've done some damage.
