Since he dropped his street anthem, Cash Flow, this past February, rapper Ace Hood has made a name for himself (and plenty of money). With his forthcoming debut, Gutta, inching closer to its August 29 drop date, DJ Khaled’s young artist has chosen his all-important follow-up single. On Ride, Ace is accompanied by the trendy hook-singing of Trey Songz and the production talents of The
Inkredibles, as he lays his feelings on the line for special someone. Following the blueprint of many emcees before him, the Broward Country native is clearly appealing to the music-buying female demographic–a smart A&R move after dropping a debut single directed at a completely different crowd. Great production and hook, Trey Songs rocked this track but I dont think Ace really handled this song properly. Could have been a hit if his verses were better

Ace Hood hasn't been on my radar previously, cuz I really wasn't feeling him as a rapper. But this right here is really smooth. I can say first the "The Incredibles" production is INCREDIBLE. I know that's an A&R move to direct joints to females, but I mean, that formula is so overdone and played out. I wish it wasn't like that. But anyways ,Trey smashed this track nicely. If it was an actual better rapper, this song may have got 4 or 5 stars from me. Ace Hood's verses were a decent effort though, so I'll throw it in rotation as far as giving it three stars, but I probably won't be listening to it on the regular.

Interesting combo of artists. Still, not quite feeling this because the hook is not very catchy and the lyrics are average. Put it in rotation and see how I feel after a few more spins.
