Ace Hood - Bed Room Music
Artist: Ace Hood
Producer: The Innovators
Album: Mr. Hood
Label: We The Best/Def Jam/IDJMG
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again… Though We the Best emcee Ace Hood didn’t manage to surpass his debut set‘s sales numbers with ‘09 sophomore effort Ruthless, he’s still working Overtime to get his much-deserved shine – in fact, he’s already got a third full-length coming down the pike. On newly-released buzz single Bed Room Music, Hood proves that he’s as diligent in the sack as he is in the recording booth, promising his girl that the neighbors will know his name before the night’s over. As the Panhandle State rapper delivers his enthusiastically freaky bars, The Innovators showcase their creativity on the production tip, heightening the ambiance with a steamy blend of piano, synths, and timpani. Does this X-rated sex jam have what it takes to sweep listeners off their feet? You be the jury. Whether you’re digging BRM‘s smooth sound or prefer the rapper’s more street-oriented material, though, it’s a good bet you’ll find something to your liking on Ace’s Mr. Hood LP. Keep it locked for the latest release details!

It looks as though my friend Ace is taking the Plies approach (as in: do not let the listening public forget about me by releasing projects back-to-back-to-back). While the results have been mixed for Plies, I think Ace could benefit if he has a few more hit singles in him.
This isn't one of them, but at least he doesn't change up his style here to simply cater to the song's intended audience. |

Copy & Paste Z's review.
I'm a bit confused by Ace's scenario. "Overtime", "Cash Flow" and "Champion" all had serious mainstream potential but, for some reason, none of them have been picked up. Ruthless was actually a pretty great album. Can anyone give me a reason for why Ace isn't selling? I mean, he's better than Gucci Mane. I can say that much. |

Is it me or does the phone talk sound something outta of Pretty Ricky's song On The Hotline. Pretty boring and agree w/ Phantastic. The singles off Ruthless should of been hits, kinda weird how some songs become hits while others don't.

I can definitely say I like the motivational Ace Hood a LOT better. This just wasn't that good to me. It was boring. I don't think Ace can carry a track like this on his own.

i thought Ruthless, and ace hood, was the most underrated album/rapper of 2009, but this doesnt help my argument
There were some really good songs on Ruthless, you would think a song with T Pain and Akon would get popular, but Overtime never really took off, same with Champion, and inspirational song got a little side tracked there |

@Phantastic: THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT! I dont understand what he's doing wrong for him not to sell, hes with Khaled, i think Cash Flow was pretty popular, but Overtime and Champion, what happened with those?????
at least i'm not alone here, we said like the exact same thing, Born An OG was also an extremely sick song, but that didnt have radio written on it, but hip hop heads prolly like that song i hate that Gucci sells but good albums can barely push 20k, or when Jay Z releases a completely sh1tty album and he sells 600k, i cant stand going into a friends car and hearing some of bp3, that was a god awful album, and what is "one of the greatest rappers ever" doing with a feature on the majority of the songs, cmon man, you shouldnt need that much help if your that good of a rapper, sorry i just had to vent a little, its pissing me off that BP3 won album of the year on this site, the bp3 doesnt deserve the success is getting, if that was just a regular newcoming rapper, it may have pushed 30k, but i guess that what happens when your in the game for so long, he needs to stay retired :) PHANTASTIC: i'm guessing ace will eventually be able to sell good, but right now, people dont respect him and his music, which is sad, Overtime and Champion both got 3.5 stars, which shows how much ppl dont respect his inspirational lyrics |

This is SEXY! I don't see why the low ratings? This should be praised by the baby-making music if not the freaky lyrics, the title is very accurate.

This production is crazy 90s to me, and while I have to agree with the Plies comparisons, I don't think that's a good thing. Ace is an exponentially better emcee than Plies, there's no reason he needs to try to follow in his footsteps. You're better than this Ace, you're better than this.

@ 1_O-TYME_1, BP3 was no classic but that don't make it wack. Majority of the songs were better than most music out and what was wrong with him working with a lot of artist? A Jay-Z and KiD CuDi song or him and Alicia Keys togehter, I was glad he reached out(maybe a little too much) but he showed on Blueprint and Black Album that he could hold an album. Rae's was better but BP3 still good.

@Hoamboy: i dont really have a problem with him having so many artists, but those artists are the ones that make the song
Lyrically, that album deserved a 3.5/10, but its an album full of hits and thats what people buy these days, theres nothing you can say that would make me change my opinion, ive always thought jay z has been madly overrated, and i gave him a chance on that album, but my point stands after listening to most of that, i have 2 songs off that album on my ipod, Empire and Run Town, only because of Alicias crazy hook, and kanyes verse, Kanye absolutely DESTROYED Jay Z on that song, just killed him, i hope nas has another beef with him so he can say "and kanye murdered you on your own song". jay z is garbage now, i never thought he was good and i never will, MOST OVERRATED EVER, i just dont see what people see in him, w/e, i'm done |

Ace Hood should leave the dirty bedroom tracks to Plies (who always seems to be able to pull them off).
This is average at best, hopefully there's a couple of other gems like Overtime & Champion on his new album |

CTRL+ALT+IGNORE @1_O-TYME_1
Song is repetitive, too simplistic, being kind of a loop of the same thing, and just plain boring by nature, thus guaranteed to crumble if asked to stand alone. Okay at very best. |

MR.TOPHAT: shut up
that album sucked, GET OFF OF JAY Z'S NUTS, and next time you (top hat) write the lyrics, try to get the em somewhat close, i know u get most of them right, but sometimes when youre wrong, you are completely wrong, you make up words and stuff, like in Drakes Fear you said "APPILLA", yup that aint a word, cuz theres that little red squiggly line under it right as i type this, and i looked it up at |

Definitely not one of his best songs. Ace caught my attention in early '08, almost half a year before his debut. He is one my favorite rappers and l think that he has potential for hit songs. I feel like he isn't getting the publicity that he should.

Garbage. Im surprise Def Jam hasn't dropped him yet. He flow the same way in every song and talk about the same shit. I dont even give him credit for the other songs on his last 2 albums...for example: Cash Flow Ft. Rick Ross and T-Pain; Overtime Ft. Akon and T-Pain; Ride Ft. Trey Songz; Champion Ft. Jazmine Sullivan & Rick Ross; Born An OG Feat. Ludacris. As u can see, all his hit songs has features on it and those artists are the reason why those singles are hot. Jus like his album Gutta and Ruthless. He only has 6 songs by him self on Gutta and the rest of the 7 songs has guest appearances. Ruthless he only has 3 to himself and the other 10...guest appearances!!! I wonder how much he's goona have on his next album lol!!!
