“Yo, these dudes is doing a lot of commercial tracks, but they ain’t doin’ tracks from commercials!” Confused? Don’t be, that’s just Staten Island representative AC letting the public know they might recognize New Soul‘s sample from hearing it on TV. More precisely, producer Phenom J Glaze deftly manages to weave in the intro to folksinger Yael Naim’s hit ‘08 single of the same name (used in Apple’s MacBook Air laptop commercials). As it turns out, Yael’s voice is perfect to get AC ready to spit bars as to how, since he’s a newcomer in hip-hop, he doesn’t have the big stacks other rappers constantly brag about. However, if you listen to his lyrical style, there is little doubt that old-school hip-hop heads will find plenty to like about AC.

I am feeling the production somewhat; but after time it just gets a little boring/tiring. He is decent on the mic here. I'll throw it in rotation because he has some lyrical skill...still need to hear more though!

Wow, this track actually DOESN'T suck. I thought his concept would be far too gimicky, the photo they have of AC ^^^^ isn't very dignifying. Gotta admit that this is fairly clever, take an immensely recognizable song, base your lyrics on the title, and add a beat that's actually befitting of the sampled track. I like his flow and he's lyrically entertaining.

Man, this dude is pretty darn ill. I wait for stuff like this on DJBooth, rappers I haven't heard of. The unheard of rappers 80% of the time are dope. That sample is nice too. I'm digging it.

ummm no. i cant even list-n to dis song all da way through cuz da beat on DIS is soooo annoying to ME! I WONT RATE BECUZ I DONT WANT TO GET PEOPLE MAD @ ME CUZ I WOULD GIVE IT A 1. - and Z u said DIS iz a non-hating site- haha- riiiiight...shoulda seen some of da comments on Big Boi's last track...so anyway i just won't rate:)

I honestly can't see the point of this production. Anyway this is almost better than the original song by Yael Naim...it's a cheerful song but quite useless, more useless than others I mean :P I'll give it 3 stars, the final result is pretty good

Can this be considered product placement? Haha. If I find out AC is being paid off by Apple, there will be hell to pay. Other than that, creative idea ~ nice concept ~ tight lyrics. Dude has talent.

If u think about it..the beat is original and unoriginal at the same time because its been used by a commercial before but never been used by a rapper...however it does make the track sound childish...he flow aight though

love the production, and Im saying, get a real good remix on this and I will love this song cos Im not too fond on the rapper. Wayne, Bun, Paul Wall, some kind of connection on a remix would set this up for a kill!
