After rapping about everything from the Eliot Spitzer scandal to the life of Big Punisher, AC has gained a reputation as one of the industry’s most creative newcomers. At 22, he has received props from the game’s biggest tastemakers, and on his brand new record, Light up the Night, he makes friends with all the puff-puff-passers, spitting verses riddled with pop culture references (it’s hard not to chuckle at the Nick Hogan drop). Assisting is Michel Aubertine, who adds reggae-fusion vocals over producer J. Glaze’s ominous soundscape. Being in the studio 24/7 has given the Staten Island-to-Manhattan transplant the confidence and wherewithal to light up the night in his own right, with a fiery brand of music that will take the rapper du jour from the e-streets to the big time in no time.

The hook is pretty dope and the lyrics are average. This will defintily get you in the mood to smoke a blunt in the whip but its not that good.

AC’ve been on my radar since “Heart gently weeps” (google it, download it, listen to it!) and I’m pleased to see an album is coming, assisted by nice beats (Love the winds at the end!) while still kept that street flavor.
I have a theory that rappers with slow flow (in the lame sense: Shawty Lo, Gucci Mane, Gorilla Zoe, Soulja Boy) use it to hide the lack of lyrical content while those who have something to say spit with passion, like they can’t breathe if they stopped.
AC is a breath of fresh air! Even if not fully demonstrated in this song…

The only thing that I'm not a fan of on this track is the hook. That was just simply annoying. The rapping was cool though and the beat was hot. This is in rotation.

This isn't really blending well for me. That hook and this dark/smooth night beat doesn't mix. AC flows well with this though. Switch the hook. Other than that, I dig!

The production is good, verses are decent but the hook leaves me perplexed...I don't like how they sing in it! I've seen some people here didn't like the hook...but at least it's original! 2,5
