When you hear the term west coast you think of Los Angeles, you may even think of the Bay Area, but unless you’re from there, I can almost guarantee that you don’t think of Carson, CA. That may change soon if Ab-Soul keeps turning out outstanding tracks like his new mixtape leak MayDay. Coming off his last Booth-approved submission Long Term, Ab puts the soul in his name by wearing his heart on his mic throughout MayDay; in the intro he says he intends to use MayDay as a chance to prove he’s the “number one author,” and he proves his intentions with a hyper-aggressive yet still lyrical flow: “I’m borderline psycho when I come up with lines to bite yo, f**king face off y’all ain’t tryin to face off.” Tell us how you really feel Ab. Add in a banging and scratch-infused beat from producer Willie B. and I believe we’ve got ourselves a winner. I’ve got a feeling a lot of rappers are going to need rescue after Ab-Soul hits them with his Long Term 2 mixtape, coming soon.

What is not to like here? Ab-Soul can rap his ass off and does so passionately over moving production. I am going out on a limb and saying this is the best Ab-Soul record I've heard to date. This will make casual listeners become fans.

Ab-Soul comes hungry with his lyrics and he is definitely going to be going places soon. His lyrics are outstanding and the beat is nice. Impressive listen!

Impressing lines being dropped here. Can't say I've ever heard of the kid before. I'm a listener already. But I won't jump on this dude yet til' the mixtape. Rotation song for now, maybe more if I continue to like this guy.

This is some crazy shit Ab Soul put a lot of soul and heart into lyrics are crazy the beat is insane but gotta say i ain't feeling the chorus still a BANGER!!!

I love listening to emcees put their heart and (pardon the pun) soul on the tracks, and that's why I loved this track - especially when he really gets going on the second verse. It could use a little polishing, but I've got nothing but respect for this one.

With heartfelt lyrics and a passionate sense of awareness, you can't help but listen to Ab's words. Beat sounds inspirational with an overall hopeful vibe of what it is next to come. Hook could use a little bit of work; maybe a guest feature. Ab's verses were all nicely crafted and this track is definitely going into my rotation. Solid effort.

i really love how willie b's production and ab-soul's flow slowly build in the first verse, gets you really excited for the second. that verse doesnt disappoint and the dopeness of this track continues the whole way through, capitvating stuff!
