It’s been more than ten years since R&B lost its most promising young voice, and just as long since we’ve heard new music from Aaliyah, but apparentlyDrake‘s determined to change all that. Shortly after news surfaced that Drake, who hasn’t been shy about proclaiming his love for Aaliyah, would be executive producing her posthumous album comes new release Enough Said. Instead of the Missy and Timbland beats that were Aaliyah’s hallmarks while alive here we get Drake’s constant production partner Noah “40” Shebib‘s now familiar underwater synth sound, which subtly compliments Aaliyah’s always sultry and understated vocals. A middle verse from Drizzy that feels more like a headlining turn than a guest verse is sure to have people talking, and debating, but at least they’ll be talking about new music from Aaliyah. While details on the album are so far a mystery, the house of OVO will undoubtedly be dropping off some new info (and music) soon.

Yeah this is dope. Aaliyah's vocals are brilliant. Very melodic, I would be interested to know where they originated from. Drake and 40s signature style really compliment them. Unlike a lot of posthumous tracks, this doesn't sound slapped together. This could've been recorded last week and you wouldn't know. . Should be a hit

Makes me realize how much I miss Aaliyah. This is really outstanding. Kudos to Drake and his team for making this record sound vibrant, relevant, natural and new. I really do hope there is more around the corner, but less can be more...

Wow... I can't wait to hear this material... I've been thinking of her a lot lately... True talent right here and I think 40 and Drake will do a great job telling another one of her stories... Great work...

Nice first track, RIP Aaliyah! I could do with or without Drakes verse. Actually I prefer it without Drake but oh well hes gonna ride this train regardless.

I definitely miss Aaliyah. This record is a good look for Drake and if by some chance he acquired Aaliyah's back catalog for him to pick apart and mix into an album, definitely a good look. It was a nice record, I don't feel it was a 100% solid performance, but it was good. Drake's verse over powers Aaliyah's calm and subtle tones and he needs to gauge back a bit and really compliment her vocals. Its like he rapped over her and that doesn't make for a good presence in the record. Overall it's something tho I think Aaliyah's later fans are going to enjoy and those who miss her voice.

this isnt suppose to be drake ft aaliyah its suppose to be vice versa. This sounds like drake is making himself in the between time song hopefully im wrong. He needs to go get missy n timbaland before he messes up. song is still decent cant hate on it.

Drake and 40 compliment her more than the current Timbaland could, so no need for hate. Face it, Timbaland is not the same as he used to be, 40's sparse, otherwordly production style fits her smooth vocals.

Dam 40 killed killed it on here!! To above posters saying bring in Timbo and missy have you ears any recent work from Timbo?? Sadly it's wack!! But it would be cool to bring in missy to produce and rap with some Aaliyah vocals!!
This is a classic not simply because of Aaliyah but because it was produced so well that it didn't feel like they were trying it just kinda fell into place correctly!! Good verse by drake too |

I'm not going to lie. I wanted to hate it as I'm a nostalgic fan but once those drums and her gorgeous voice comes in, it was a wrap for me. Aaliyah's vocals compliment 40's sparse production so well like a perfect match. Minimalist production may be the way to go with Aaliyah's vocals because Aaliyah always thrived on moody, atmospheric tracks just as well as she maneuvered Timbo's complex landscapes. Overall, it's a timely reminder as to why the 90s generation is obsessed with Aaliyah. What other singer could convey concern, compassion, tenderness and sincerity without histrionics or sappiness? What other singer could melt hearts just as easily as she could mend them with her voice? Nobody could do it better than Aaliyah. People criticize the track for being minimalist and "simple" but in a era full of hyperbole and ratchedness, simplicity and honesty may be the best cure. I can't believe I'm saying this but thanks Drake and 40.

40 I stand up and clap my hands for a magical job very well done! This for me, though I didn't know Aaliyah on a personal note, captured her resting soul. Drake..... at first with the cussing and all I was all ears since it fell into her request of what she can do to help her man and hes spitting how females get... that much I followed Then it took a turn and not for the good. LUCK though Aaliyah came back and brought me back to the magical vibe it gave off. Drake with Aaliyah less from you IS more!!! Aaliyah and 40 bailed him out what could have been a mess! I am excited to hear more and hopefully it wont be on the same road as a DETOX album. 40 again, Very well done! Much respect for this and BE PROUD!!!

This makes me want to go and listen to Aaliyah for the rest of the day. Drakes flow goes really well with the rest of the track, and it all sounds recent unlike most tracks from artists that have passed.

So sad Drake doesn't respect the wishes of Rashad and the rest of Aaliyah's family and still comes out and ruins this beautiful song. Someone tell Drake he's played out... make him stop!
