Former Little Brother producer 9th Wonder is preparing the release of his third compilation album, originally set to drop January 29, and the first on mid-major label, Asylum. The Wonder Years, which is produced entirely by the North Carolina beat master, will feature some of hip-hop and R&B’s finest guest verses. On the song Only Knew, R&B singer Tyler Woods laments over a relationship goes awry, but hopes that she’ll “eventually come to her senses.” On either side of Woods vocals, Yonkers lyrical master Styles P. spits some of his low-key, yet thoughtful verses that both gangstas and gentlemen can relate to. The Wonder Years is expected to drop sometime in the second quarter of ‘08.
Love the whole slow Styles P. style.. I like itz.. its different and thatz what im lookin for at the moment with all these real similar songz out these dayz
yea not bad, just drags on a lot, he keeps going and going not really changing up the tempo or pitch of his voice a lot, which makes it a bit boring until the hook...but i do like it...i think it will grow on me seeing as im a sucker for R&B like this.
Stylz P rips the chorus/intro on here. I like the beat on this track. The singing is really good on here as well. This is a very worthy track. Nicely done all around with excellent features.
NC representin...9th wonder does his thing without tryin to make the beats outdo the lyrics...i like the tone of tyler woods' voice...very emotional...styles is one of the most slept on rappers in the game...overall a good song
