I wouldn’t be all that surprised if rapper 9th Ward’s Tivo is filled with America’s Next Top Model episodes. He really has a thing for supermodels, and considering all the hardships he has gone through in the past few years, he probably deserves one. After a rough upbringing in New Orleans’s 9th Ward (hence the stage name), he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina and forced to start life anew in Atlanta. Thankfully for him, his career has taken off since then. His newest single, Super Model, is a bouncy, Dirty South track about walking like Tyra. While the laid back Drumma Boy beat may not be ideal for generating a spin-off dance, I’m pretty sure that’s what the two are going for. The song will appear on 9th Ward’s debut album, Times Change.
Note: The streaming of “Super Model” has temporarily been suspended.
Very good track. Its got kind of a dark feel to it which is pretty tight. I like his flow on this, as well. Chorus is hot as well, really catchy. Now, if only I knew what Doing the Super Model meant???
Oooo, Drumma Boy. He usually serves it up nicely with the productions. 9th Ward is real decent with it. Reminds me of the late 90s, early 2000s Juvenile. I'll give this a two. It's alright. Beat is decent as well. I wouldn't listen to this again though.
GAme would murder this beat! This sound like his feel. Yea Game ft Bun B! I would love that. 9th word does nothin 4 me. If I remember correctly, none of his songs have grabed me. His entire vocal is bad to me. Nor does this beat remind me of a Super Model. However I think this will work. With a generic music video and some radio play, this will deffinatly work for the kid. Hw may have one here!
The Game chooses way hotter, more complext and sophisticated beats. nah man. as far as the song, indeed it reminded me a bit of Juvenile with a mix of Soulja Boy on the hook. it's TYPICAL south (bull)@*#$! to me with no substance at all, not for me
DIS IS ME 9TH WARD GUCCI HIMSELF I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYBODY DAT COMMENTS ON MY MUSIC GOOD OR BAD.......IF U ONLY KNEW WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE IN DIS INDUSTRY....GOOD AND BAD....IF U ONLY KNEW....
Song is pretty good for a club song. A banging beat with street lyrics. A lot of people have to realize, before they go bashing an artist song, that the labels pick their singles, songs they think is marketable, you can't judge an artist from singles, without checking out their albums or a decent amount of their material. But Supermodel is a really good club song, I mean what did you expect from a song that's aimed for the clubs and females, some super lyrical song. This song serves it's purpose and 9th Ward kills the beat. Dude has talent and im looking foward to his upcoming release. This song is a lot better than a lot of the pop garbage club songs that a lot of other artist are releasing these days.
