Guess who’s back? Yup, the G-Unit leader has hand-delivered his tentative buzz first single off his forthcoming winter release, Before I Self-Destruct. Following the old adage, “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it,” Fifty has hooked up with past collaborator (and former yacht owner) Scott Storch, whose talents helped to craft hits like Candy Shop and Just A Lil Bit, for the club-built banger Get Up. While this new concoction is certainly no In Da Club, this richer-than-Richie emcee once again sounds aggressive on the microphone and is backed by stellar spin-worthy production. The follow up to last year’s pseudo-self-titled Curtis, Fifty’s new album is one step closer to the end of his record contract with Universal-owned Interscope. Following his December 9 release (and a contractually-obligated greatest hits album), Mr. Cent will officially be a free agent. So, where does the bidding start?
This is an official street banger right here. Scott Storch's production is fire here, and 50 has got a hell of a swag on him with this track. The chorus is hot as well, but theres something about this track holdin me back from banger status. It will fit perfect on a mixtape and its a perfect introduction to Before I Self Destruct, I'm really expecting big things from that album. This is a solid street look from Curtis, hot song.
Great song from fifty, maybe cuz my expectations were lowered but this caught me by surprise at how good it was to me! Storch brings a banger beat and 50's swag is killer. Chorus could use a little work, maybe if 50 fell into the modern R&B collabo he might be able to work out something, problem is 50s style might not work... idk but 4* good job for 50
i don't usually get down w/ scott storch but he's done probably his greatest imitation of Dr. Dre with this beat. so kudos to him. congrats to him, but 50 should just get back with the real Dre to have a fighting chance at being a rap icon again. rating for the beat 4, 50 2

This song is OK but I don't know. I think someone's going to take 50 Cent's place similar to how 50 took Ja Rule's place if 50 Cent don't get his act together. Just my opinion.
50 cent is dropping to Soulja Boys level, slowly but surely. His lyricism is almost non-existent, and even his flow is mediocre. The beat kept this one out of the trash can
i love 50 cent but his last album curtis was not great at all and this single is just average he needs to team up with dre and eminem and get back to that get rich or die trying status
I noticed lots of rappers are really into these real epic sounding joints (T.I. to be the most recent example). This is definitely better sounding than anything 50 Cent had on Curtis. This is definitely a hype universal banger that the masses will eat up. Strorch really got his Danja Hands on with this joints. Very decent joint from 50. I'll throw it in rotation and look out for more improvement on this new album. He has some things to prove. We'll see if he delivers.
This @*#$! BANGS HARD! Scott put is foot in this beat. I think 50's flow has gotten off point. He needs to ride beats like he used to. For example, How we do. He murdered that track. He did better than game on that one. If he was in that mind frame when he rapped on this one. This would be unstoppable. I hate to love it. But I do!

this is better than i expected. fifty has been letting me down drastically recently but this straight. hopefully hes hungry and back to his routes for this album
the production on this is crazy, and i kind of like 50's flow. its definitely better than anything i heard from the massacre and curtis, but if his next album isnt up there with his first then i may lose faith in 50 for good. And to answer your question Z, although i dont think it deserves to be, the fact that this is 50 will make it a top 10 record for a few weeks

Beat is what makes this song. Its my opinion that 50 shines only when his production is on point. On the whole this is average and if this becomes a top 10 song it won't be for very long. If 50 is gonna make a comeback he needs another In Da Club.

The absolutely unexciting "straight to the bank" flow on the first verse and anything similar to "Curtis" album must go away! He got better on the second but still not strong enough to make up for the forgettable lyrics (Please, cite it if he said anything remarkable). Chorus is not catchy, I thought he'd do a better job if he's so eager to take credit for all Game's chorus. Production is repetitive but still has a head banging rhythm and an epic sound. This is not goin to be a Top 10 record Z! There's enough quality records not let this sh*t in... PS: The "You don't know" 50 would kill this beat!
Scotty done killed this track! Good to hear him "Get Up" again. On the contrary, fiddy sounds bored on his own track... so am I. Just imagine Nas, for example, riding that beat! 2* for the beat

I could actually see this being in the top ten, but not the top spot. But I don't think that this will be his best song off his new record, heck this might not even be on the record, but this is the best I have heard from 50 in a long time, so "Before I Self Destruct" could be great.

In my opinion, 50 fell of AWHILE back.. When it became all about the money. You notice his first cd was ill, everybody had that in their cd player... then slowly he fell off when he realized how easy it is to make money when you're in the forefront of the industry. The beats the only reason I gave it a 3, Scott Storch is a fire producer, and quite a weird looking man, hahaha. 3.. it's a wrap.
So I have to give this one banger status for the Scott Storch beat I don't care who's spitting on it, it would still be banging and 50 does get off pretty good on this anyways. I think it has potential to be a top 10 hit right now and make people start checking for him again. Have to wait and see.

Production is ok, I like the beat but the music is repetitive! As already written his flow is good but it isn't a song I would listen to again. It will go in the clubs, though. It has much energy and makes people dance! So it's in rotation
