With recent mixtapes War Angel and Forever King, the emcee returned to the hard-hitting style that caught Em‘s ear back in ‘02. Now, he’s preparing to bring his trilogy to a close with the release of The 50th Law of Power. Lead single Flight 187 finds the G-Unit general employing a new-and-improved, Shady-inspired flow as he delivers his thoughts on the state of the game (and his career). Over Phoenix’ ear-paralyzing beat, the rapper opines on everything from his personal life to Michael Vick’s dogfighting conviction to Hova‘s street cred. I like it. People will hate just cuz it's 50 and they feel he went bubble gum but this is a dope track with real emotion and shit that's going on in his life. The beat is dark, his rhymes are hard and emotion filled. I enjoyed this more than a lot of the other shit he's released over the years. I give him the benefit of the doubt, good music is still good music, no matter who it's from.

Many men, many, many, many, many men... bum bummp.... what was wrong with the old flow? :s What's good about the new 50?
This flow is annoying and REPETITIVE. I said the same about Em (who is great), imagine how I feel about a non sense making 50? Good music is good music, alright, but this is not. I mean, I just listened to Wale's Ice & Rain, are we really supposed to put this on the same level (iPod)? |

I gotta agree wit Fredrico, its very hard to see where 50 is going with his music. He has all the money in the world, he should be buying top notch beats for his music. I can appreciate him still writing his own lyrics, but maybe he should hire a ghost writer to give him a different flow to his shit. I don't know, I can't imagine this being considered anything but decent.

yo...honestly...im diggin this track yo...tha beat is killa...and i like how fif is switchin his flow up...he's mixin a diff formula for his music now...as far as delivery for his lyrics...and as far as actual lyrics go...jea they could be better...but arent they a big improvement from tha shit he wuz spittin on "Curtis"??...i think he's comin up fa sho...straight banger...~

To be fair, its only a mixtape track. 2.5
Im agreeing with BDF44's statement, 50 should be able to buy the best production & even the best writers to make his tracks enjoyable, but for some reason he's not. Hopefully 50 wakes up and realizes this when releasing Before I Self Destruct. |

I pretty much agree wit FredRico, 50's flow is nothing exciting. It's too boring and rarely gets changed up. The beat is OK and the dark vibe is cool, but this 50 is gettin old (has been for a very looong time).

If I hadn't been rollin' with 50 for as long as I have then I probably wouldn't be able to stand this track. I'll give it banger status mostly because of the grimey beat and because, well, what more can you expect from 50 nowadays. His lyrics were aight.
Yeah, his flow is EXACTLY the way it was on OK, You're Right. Wonder what made him want to stick with it for a whole nother song. War Angel was crack. Forever King was extremely disappointing. I hope The 50th Law of Power will be able to deliver. I honestly don't even know what to expect from BISD. 50's not consistent enough to expect another great album from him, but I would be pleasantly surprised if he came out with a decent album. We'll see. |

This "Ok, You're Right" flow scheme gets boring and annoying by the third verse and also doesn't fit with the vibe of the track. Lyrically, it's pretty mediocre with a line here n there but typical 50 Cent. Hook makes no sense to me and I've never been a fan of such beats. Personally for me 50 Cent will always be just another rapper who is listenable, but only when the production is "HOT" (Read: His singles and not entire albums.)

I disagree. I understand, and was surprised when I first heard it on the radio. Did 50 write this for me... jajaja. This track is about the changes everyone around him is making... how he doesnt like it or understand it... he IS lost in a flight... or better saying... "fight". The reason this song caught my attention was the number he chose... for a while those numbers where in my head not knowing what it meant. Now I know that 187 stands for Murder after I googled it. I was thinking I should play them. Maybe i'll get rich or die trying. ha. I was surprised to see someone else liked them. PS. I don't like flying. ;)

I would bump this! This is good 50 to me. The flow isn't his best, but the lyrics are HARD! This is real gritty street $hit right here, and the real streets already know what this is...Intro was weird though.

I listened to the song again to make sure it really was as bad as the first time and yes it is. The song still sucks and when it comes to hooks 50 is king but this here is just wack.
Another thing too, how the hell is 50 gonna take shots at Jay-Z for living a rich & fabolous lifestyle, when he does too! |

I was heavy into %0 and G-Unit when they first started with the mixtapes and all that and I think the one thing about 50 is that for someone who supposively always kept it so real he never really talked much about his personal life, just the outer shellthat he and the mesia created for him..... thats y i think this song is pretty dope at least he is stepping out of whatever bubble he thought was working for so long... when in reality it was just old and boring...
