Though 50 Cent‘s recent mixtape trilogy found him harking back to his grittier early output, it was the mainstream-friendly, Ne-Yo-assisted Baby By Me that got him greater Booth approval, winning an impressive 3.75-star average rating. Be that as it may, he’s still intent on recapturing that hard-nosed magic – the latest leak off his forthcoming senior set finds Fitty focused squarely on the streets. Flowing over Team Demo‘s no-nonsense boardwork, driven by boom-bap percussion and ominous piano loops, the G-Unit head honcho announces his intention to spark a Crime Wave, describing the impending chaos in loving detail and even offering listeners some sage advice: “I’m not tellin you to shoot somebody, but if somebody try to shoot you, then shoot ‘em; don’t waste time n*gga, just do it!” On second thought, it might not be the greatest idea to take street safety lessons from a guy who’s managed to get shot nine times… Regardless, fans will finally be able to get their hands on Before I Self-Destruct on Nov. 23. Does this track bode well for the long, long, long-awaited LP? You be the jury.

About time 50 put out something to put out some real buzz. I enjoyed Baby By Me but, lets face it, it's just a radio hit, not something that warrants an album purchase. This isn't classic but it's definitely better than his recent output so I'm jiggy with it (yeah, I said "jiggy", sue me).

K.O.D. might just be the best album I've heard all year. I know this has no connection to the song at hand but I just had to let everyone know. If you thought Sickology 101 was crazy, wait until you hear this. |

This is probably the best hardcore street song that 50 has made since he released GRODT. Production is good & 50 came through with the flow that made him famous in the first place.

Ah, let the 50 debate begin. So here's my take: this beat is so huge and monstrous it covers up the fact that his verses are mediocre and, frankly, the hook's annoying. Seems like ever since 50 really made his money, rapping's been an afterthought - and I don't blame him. If I was making that kind of cash I'd be spending more time doing Vitamin Water deals than working on my rhyme skills too. All the other rappers on his level, Weezy, Jay, Luda, would kill him on a purely microphone basis. That's not hate, that's real talk.

YEAHHHHHH!!!!! 50's return to his previous style is awesome. I commend him for this track right here. Pure hard lyrics, nice flow, and top-notch production. 50's going hard like he used to do. My favorite 50 Cent, though, is his pre-GRODT days like from 1998-2002. Those days are what make him one of my favorite rap artists. But anyways, I've been listening to this over and over again. Banger.

lol u guys dont realize that he cant "go back" to his old ways. hes not in the hood anymore...like in this song hes lying to us straight up. he doesnt pop nothing anymore, and the hood doesnt feel him.
before in the days i could feel his hunger, he was really in the hood - and he had the right to rap about it. now this dudes #1 in forbes...thats like gates rapping about hood life. production is fire but i dont feel that hunger. i feel fake grittiness. face it dudes GRODT is not gonna return, unless 50 goes bankrupt and ends up in the hood again. |

This seems so fake to me. He's even rapping in a sing-song voice most his verses, like he knows it's a joke. This is more like a Curley messin around diss track. "Yea!" Ans I thought Jay's "Auhhh" adlibs were weird...

50 had a lot of potential to murder this beat. Hes just not hungry anymore. He's like Jay-Z, only puts out bangers and classics when hes hungry. hes not hungry anymore, hes a business man. Not really much artistic talent on this record other than the beat.
