The “War for the West” between 50’s G-Unit and The Game’s Black Wall Street has been slowly playing out since 2005. After The Game left G-Unit, in came Spider Loc and Hot Rod. Those moves then prompted BWS to scoop up Clyde Carson and Juice. (Still following along?) Looking to tip the scale in permanent favor of G-Unit, LA’s 40 Glocc (co-signed to Mobb Deep’s Infamous label) is headed to the club with his new single, Let Me Borrow You. While Glocc puts in some powerful ammo, Akon’s contributions to the hook and the beat easily overshadow Glocc’s verse. However, it should be more than enough to get Glocc into the national spotlight and certainly garner a few playlists inclusions. Does the Unit have the edge? Who knows. But more importantly, does anyone care?
its hard to ruin this production and akon's verse, but 40 glocc tries...1...2...minutes...what?...get outta here with that...im feelin this beat tho...akon runs shit
Decent hook, solid simple production by Akon. Should have been Akon's song with a quick 40 Glocc feature if anything, definitely should have not been 40 Glocc's song. Sorry not feeling this one. Akon's hook was expected, nothing spectacular, nothing new there... 40 Glocc,... just the wrong song altogether. Got bored no more than 20 sec into this song. However I can see it being a hit because of Akon's input.
Yeaah, like you could rate something Akon produced less than a 3! Akon’s an amazing producer, comes up with catchy hooks out of nowhere… But this dude raping..uhmm…uhmm.. I don’t know! I wont be givin him any stars.
Akon is the F-ing man! He is one of the best in the business today! I said it before and I will go "on-record" by saying 40 Glocc is a WEAK rapper that should not even be on G-Unit. I honestly hope he gets dropped before his album comes out. Burmy asked if the Unit has the edge...well, if they get rid of 40 glocc and Spider Loc and finally sign MA$E, then they would have the edge...Unfortunately, the newcomers to G-Unit are bringing it down. This track is an example... Even with Akon on here, they still continue to deliver WEAK verses. They only get a 2 star rating because of Akon and his production. 40 Glocc is Garbage and I am sure that my little brother will eat him alive in a battle...
Wow oh boy is hot garbage........soon as he opened his mouth it was over....What is going on he cannot be signed/affiliated with G Unit, if so I need to holla at then because if he got a deal I need to be made president and sign off on all deals.......AKON probably heard ole boy verses and was made that he lent his production and vocals....Seriosly I need to know what he did that was impressive enough to get a deal
Is it just me, or does it seem like 40 stole this song from Akon's personal computer and made up three verses? I need to get my man Kon on the phone. LOL.
40 Glocc is seriously so WACK it’s disturbing! It’s like he doesn’t care; what’s his problem? Apathetic flow? Well 40 Glocc is just pathetic! The more I listen to this, the less impressed I get by the song (I rate it 3)! It would be no doubt better if it was just Akon and the beat. I mean it. Can I change my vote, Z? akon did some quite good job but this guy,i don´t want to call the name because he is really weak.but i think dj blaze overrated akon because i don´t think he has done much or seem as he will do much in the industry.all the same,he gives quite good choruses just like t-pain.so for this weak track,i give a 1 for the beats
!!! dang i was thinkin all day of what akon reminds me of in this song, his vioce reminds me in just this song of "men at work" yeah old school...but akon killed it.
This track could of been a club banger from here to Japan, but 40 Glocc holds this track back from exploding. He is so slow and doesn't deliver the punches to this song. I think Mase would of killed this trick and he's the slowest rapper in the game. Akon does his thing. I hope there is a remix to song and they give 40 glocc 2 bars in the beginning.
