4-Ize - New Day

Here in Minneapolis, it certainly doesn’t feel like summer’s right around the corner; at 46 degrees, it’s actually a little chilly. Things are, of course, a little different for ATL resident (but Chi-Town representative) 4-Ize, who announces his intent to make full use of the warm weather on New Day, the lead single off his forthcoming AwesoMania LP. Here, the sampled production stylings of the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League set an appropriately summery mood as Ize describes how he’s planning on spending his June, July and August – from family reunions, barbecues and carnivals to simply rolling through the streets with the top down, checking out the half-dressed females (“I’ll make it look like it’s the ‘Nuthin’ But A G Thang’ video.”). While some of us – myself included – may need a few more weeks to fully get into the spirit, this mellow single could hardly be a better soundtrack for the sunny days ahead.
