While several Booth-heads might have thought they had seen and heard the last of 2 Pistols following his negative response to our review of his debut album, Death Before Dishonor, he has since patched things up and is gearing up for what he hopes will be a fruitful new year. Following lackluster sales and a departure from Universal Republic, 2P has decided to start from scratch on his forthcoming sophomore album. From the sound of his new club banger Up & Down, it seems like he might have another hit on his hands. In addition to switching up his flow, the Tampa native has enlisted the help of Akon, who creates yet another catchy hook and further livens the record. Produced by one of Konvict Muzik’s in-house producers, Up & Down uses the same formula that made She Got It and You Know Me chart strong. The question is, will it work yet again?

Niiiiiice! I've heard this version with just Akon before and it was pretty weak and def. sounded unmastered and incomplete. 2P came and did his thing on here, the track definitely improves with his addition. You know what you're getting here: 2 successful radio artists, a solid Akon production, and a catchy hook. 3/5.

lovin the slap and akon did it again in the chorus, BUT 2 pistols was not the first to hit this track...find this cat Shawn Wonder ft. Akon...his flo was waYYY slicka then this...one!

This has a DRE feel to it! 2P is under rated inmy opinion. He is certanly better than some of these cats that get all this damn attention. Not gonna mention any names at all. This one is not his best , but playable. Akon's hook is catchy.

I don't know any good song that starts with "Daaaaamn, look at all that ass..." and it's ironic that the garbage, clichéd lyrics are even censored on DjBooth, if you quote it: "I wanna know what that @*#$! cost, wanna know what that... ain't trickin if you got it @*#$! I'll pay the cost" You're not missing much! Production is a travesty of "Smack that" and the hook is the generic Akon. You know what’s funny? People might really like it. But what’s really funny is Chris Rock’s view on this: “People always say that rap music is misogynistic and degrading to women but…” (go to youtube to see the joke, “Chris Rock about Rap music”)

I usually like Akon but this song is kinda boring. It's supposed to be a catchy song I guess, and actually it is, but after a while it gets repetitive. I like the beat but it needs more energy. I agree with some of you that Akon alone sounds boring here (never heard the version without 2 Pistols). 2 Pistols is good but he's got a little part in this song! :( 2,5

Yeah - feelin that, fo sure. :) Not feelin' Pistols' part, but hey, Akon saved it for me. Makes it in rotation. :) Akon - Banger 2 Pistols - Garbage 5 + 1 /2 = 3 avg score. |

2P is defiantley getting some unfair treatment from alot of internet hip hop fans, but the lad is a a above average rapper and he proves it on some of his tracks, this is good in my opinion, 2P does his thing next to a good hook from Akon and a nicely produced beat
