Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA scheduled to appear at the Hip-Hop, Chess & Life Strategies: II Exhibition
San Francisco, CA -- RZA of the international known Wu-Tang Clan and International chess icon Josh Waitzkin has joined the rank of stars scheduled to appear at the Hip-Hop, Chess & Life Strategies: II Exhibition on May 19, 2007 at the Omega Boys Club located at 1060 Tennessee St. in San Francisco , California.
The Hip Hop, Chess & Life Strategies II Exhibition, organized by Hip Hop Chess Federation (HHCF) founders Adisa Banjoko and Leo Librian, teams up rappers; martial artists; athletes and other stars in a head-to-head intellectual battle in a fun and safe environment. "Our purpose is to encourage young people across the country to infuse their artistic and physical gifts with chess tactics and strategies to enrich their lives for years to come," stated co-founder Adisa Banjoko, "after spending nearly 3 years defining our goals and vision we are so honored to announce RZA and Josh's participation with the Hip-Hop Chess Federation."
Waitzkin burst into the chess world as a child in the mid 1980s. His journey to winning his first National Chess Championship inspired the film Searching for Bobby Fischer starring Laurence Fishburne. Since then he has gone on to become an eight-time National Chess Champion, a World Champion of Tai Chi Chuan Push Hands and a student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Josh is the author of Attacking Chess, developer and spokesperson for Chessmaster (selling more than 5 million copies) and recently authored, The Art of Learning, a breakthrough book on how to cultivate mind and body.

In addition to Waitzkins participation, the HHCF is proud to announce platinum recording artist RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan will join the event on May 19th. RZA is known across the planet as the trailblazing producer of the Wu-Tang Clan and has gone on to score movies such as Kill Bill and Afro Samurai. The Wu-Tang Clan was instrumental in promoting chess tactics in songs like Da Mysterties of Chessboxin. RZA is currently in the process of recording Wu-Tang Clan's newest release 8 Diagrams hitting the stands this summer on Rifkind's SRC label, Universal Records.
Co-founder of the Hip-Hip Chess Federation Leo Libiran stated, "To have RZA and Josh Waitzkin at our tournament is far beyond our imagination when we started working towards these events three years ago!
