The DJBooth is proud to announce that Sir Michael Rocks will be rocking on our stage for this year's SXSW music festival in Austin. Antoine “Sir Michael Rocks” Reed (originally from Matteson, Illinois) is a rapper and one half of the acclaimed retro rap duo The Cool Kids, as well as the newest member of Curren$y's Jet Life label.

Known for his perpetually cooled out rhyme style, Sir Michael Rocks had dedicated himself to making hip-hop so fresh you'll think it came straight out the Ziploc.

DJBooth Hosted Projects: Rocks Report.

Have you previously performed at SXSW?

Yes, I have performed on numerous occasions but mostly under The Cool Kids. Last year I started doing a few shows as Sir Michael Rocks at SXSW.

What are you looking forward to most about the experience?

Looking forward to performing the Premier Politics joints and a few new songs people haven't heard.

What fellow artists are you most excited to see perform?

I'm actually just looking forward to seeing a lot of the new acts - nobody in particular. Anytime you come to SXSW you are surprised by the new groups that leave an impression on you.

What are you working on in the weeks/months to come that our readers/your fans should know about?

Pushing my last two projects Premier Politics and Rocks Report while I work on new music. Go get that!

If you'll be in Austin on Saturday, March 17, you'll want to check out DJBooth's SXSW stage, featuring Freeway, Skyzoo, Thurz and many more. For all things SXSW, including information on purchasing passes, check out A3CFestival.com.
