DJBooth Chart Recap: Week of 12/26/2012
New York, N.Y. -- This week on The DJBooth's Top Hip Hop and R&B Chart, Tyga's “King & Queens” (formerly on our Rap Chart) and Trae The Truth's “I'm On 2.0” (formerly third) claim the top two. Last week's front-runners, The Throne's “Gotta Have It” and Tyga's “Rack City (Remix),” drop to fourth and sixth. No new features debut among our Top Picks, but additional joints from Usher, Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj and more make the jump from our Rap and R&B/Pop Charts.
On our Top Rap Chart, Tyga's “King & Queens” and Killer Mike's “Big Beast” graduate to our Top Hip Hop and R&B Chart, clearing the way for two new features to take the lead: J. Cole's “Grew Up Fast” and Chamillionaire's “Won't Change” enter the lineup on top, debuting along with cuts by Wiz Khalifa, Nicki Minaj, DMX and more.
On the Top R&B/Pop Chart, Usher's “Climax” and Cassie's “King of Hearts” ascend to our Top Hip Hop and R&B Chart; debuting in their place are Rihanna's Chris Breezy-assisted “Birthday Cake (Remix)” and B.o.B's “So Good.” Afurther new additions come courtesy of Chiddy Bang, Lloyd, Melanie Fiona and more.
On the Booth's Top Independent Hip Hop Chart, Bang, You're Dead's “Meat Market” and The Pro Letarians' “Church,” drop to (respectively ) 12th and fifth; debuting in their place are Rittz' DJBooth-premiered “Walking on Air” and G-Eazy's “Marilyn.” All in all, 14 new features earn chart placement, among them additional Booth-premiered jams from Nobody Famous and Parable & Mac Soto.
