Brooklyn, NY -- Akrobatik, Boston mainstay and one-third of critically acclaimed hip-hop collective The Perceptionists, is set to release his new album Absolute Value on Fat Beats Records on February 19th, 2008.

Absolute Value is the long awaited follow-up to 2003's Balance, which established Akrobatik as an essential part of the Boston hip-hop scene. In 2005, Akrobatik translated his regional acclaim into national success as part of The Perceptionists. Their DefJux release, Black Dialogue, was acclaimed for its resounding criticisms of bandwagon pop culture and the Bush regime and became the only indie-rap project to register on Rolling Stone's Top 50 Records of the Year list. Akrobatik's success then led to a recording contract with Fat Beats Records, who will be releasing Absolute Value.

Absolute Value takes the listener on a journey through a diverse range of topics, and he does not go at it alone. The impressive list of guest artists that accompany Akrobatik on Absolute Value includes hip-hop legends Talib Kweli, Chuck D. of Public Enemy, Mr. Lif, Bumpy Knuckles, and Little Brother. On the production side, J-Dilla, Illmind, Beatminerz, 9th Wonder, Hezekiah, and J-Zone lend their skills to the effort. Akrobatik deals with issues both personal and socio-political, but never strays too far from his fist-pumping, party-inducing formula for bangers. The effects of life on the road, enlightening misguided youth, perseverance through the toughest of times, and the continuing struggle of Black America are among the issues Akro tackles on Absolute Value.

The first single for Absolute Value will be "Put Ya Stamp On It" featuring Talib Kweli.
