Before the June 26, release of his brand new The Awesome EP, Wichita-son and Squarian captain XV has dropped free mixtape, Popular Culture.
The project features 17 tracks, which include previously-featured offerings “Andy Warhol,” “Be There, Be Square,” “The Kick,” and “Aaahh! Real Monsters.”
Guest features include War Music creator Slim The Mobster, Emilio Rojas, ScHoolboy Q, B.o.B and more. Production is mostly handled by The Awesome Sound, along with Xaphoon Jones, DJ Tech-Neek, TNGHT and Odd Couple.

i can't stop listening to this!! 5am this morning i found myself paused by WONKAVATOR and kept repeating it over and over again. I luv Emilio on that track and Vizzy never gets boring for me, he's unique and if the world doesn't want him than i'll hoard his music for myself!

lyricality, originality, and composition are the most important aspects for hip hop music in 2012 and beyond...the internet has made it really hard to stand out as an artist buuuuuut not for XV...you can't even catch all his metaphors on the first try...nuff said

For me this is XV's best mixtape yet! And that's says alot since I consider his last mixtape Zero Heroes to be one of the best last year.
