In anticipation of the release of his debut studio album, up-and-coming emcee/Interdependent Media CEO TRUTHLiVE has hooked up with DJBooth.net to bring listeners his official prelude EP, The Unlearning.
The EP is composed of 10 new, previously-unreleased tracks from the Cali emcee, including reader-approved leak “Tormented Genius.” The project’s all-original production comes courtesy of Tha Bizness, Vitamin D, J-Zone, Martin SLO, The ARE, and TRUTHLiVE himself, among others.
If you like what you’re hearing, mark your calendar for the 4/20 release of TRUTH’s freshman full-length. Produced entirely by Jake One, Patience will feature guest appearances from Ras Kass, Finale, Tanya Morgan, Moe Green, and more.

 Intelligent, and still accessible rhymes an'
Flawless flow, flawless timin'. A diversity of styles and attention, spotlight given to more than 2 elements - good to see the dj getting props and made relevant. The first track I heard was Broken... relentless and unapologetic had me on the hook had me open. Trolled the web and uncovered other gems all of which are on this EP to be discovered. TRUTHLiVE is a breath of fresh air in an industry inundated smothered by tuff-guy mcz who lack the skills to really rock it & too ignorant to drop sh!t on any interesting topics. Wish y'all would stop it. But TRUTHLiVE comin' with that hot ish! That true heat & lyrical prowess an' I feel this - the art of superb undaground hip-hop realness! |

Don't get me wrong, this ep is hot, but I miss the cuts that were on some of the leaked versions (intro and Tormented Genius) Wonder why those were removed? oh well. Still dope. -t |
