Washington, D.C. buzzmaker K-Beta has hooked up with Inner Loop Records and DJBooth.net to bring listeners his debut full-length, Inglorious Beta.
In regard to the album’s title, K-Beta stated, “The word ‘inglorious’ refers to being in a state of utter shame and disgrace…I reflected on all of the trials and tribulations of my life, and searched for perspective through reading, meditating etc. It helped me understand that shame is [a] tool with which many build hiding places. Creating this album has helped me lift up the rug and expose all of the dirt underneath.”
Featuring “Burn Thru the Journal,” “Come Closer,” and 14 more new tracks from the rising star, the project finds K-Beta joined by a wide array of DMV-based collaborators, including Diamond District (Oddisee, XO and yU), Illa Ghee, Sketch, B. Sheba, Mina and Midian. Production comes courtesy of Team Demolition, Kev Brown, Kokayi, J-Scrilla, Overok, Souful! and E-Minah aka The Grussle.

Easily the best album I've heard in a while, let alone all year. The production is so thorough throughout its not even funny. The guest appearances are all sick too. The whole thing from packaging to marketing to videos to the listening experience was so well put together by the ILR family. This album had/has a tremendous amount of hype around it and it is well worth the wait. The bar has just been raised again...

After listening to the album I can say some tracks I favor when I first listen to them others not so much. The production either holds my attention on some tracks for longer than 20 seconds or loses me. Surrender, Another Day 2, DTLR, Infinite Possibilities, Life of Crhyme and Outchea are the tracks that stand out the most to me either lyric wise or production wise. Some tracks remind me of the chipmunk Diplomat sound that was popular in 02, which i m not feeling. Over all the album reminds me of a watered down version of one of my favorite albums O.C. - Jewlez if i had to make comparisons. Beta does not make me rewind everything he says with wow factor in the form of a punchline, but if anything I feel the realness in what he spits. I m hard on everything i rate , so a 2 star rating isnt a bad thing.

It's that "sound" that has been absent for over ten years homie. Great job MAXXX! I'm ready for the next album already lol.

Most of this was actually pretty good. There was some parts where the sound quality did not sound the best I am not sure if it is my headphones or not but in general a good album
