Raw emotion, talent, and emcee ability leads to the creation of something worthy of 5 Mics. This should go diamond for the quality of music here. Not much in today's music industry can compete with a sleeper like this.

A classic hands down. Production is mind bending and the lyrics are top notch and heartfelt. Nothing more I can say, but you owe this one to yourself.

Somebody pass me the dub step track please. While I'm still bumping Watch The Throne and Cole World I happened to almost drop my coff.ee on the floor. I guess it's always been a plus that I keep plenty of ice, milk, and sugar in my coffee when I do accidentally drop my drinks on the floor. I do have to say, nothing gives me quite the caffeine rush that I should, except for maybe other pleasurable activities in a cold room with a woman. The ILLZ, while many put him under the Independent category, fail to recognize a dynamic artist that in many ways seems to favor that of Kanye West. While I'm not always one to jump to instant comparisons, I must say that The ILLZ baroque choice of production instantly places him within good company. The harmonious "To Know Your Place In The Universe" sounds like something that Yeezy would craft on a cold summer morning. There are some tracks on this album that have seriously blown me away such as "Dark Side Of The Room" and "ILLYTAL". You have to be pretty brave to jump on some Trip Hop and dub step inspired elements, but The ILLZ has a certain charisma that he brings to the track that you just don't seem in someone like Drake or Rick Ross. Even with the illuminating concepts of "The Appreciation II" we are still able to see some room for growth as an artist. The ILLZ has given us one hell of an album and you'd have to be pretty insane not to pass up the opportunity to cop this cinematic creation. This album certainly goes down with the best including Kanye's MBDTF and Lupe's The Cool. This is an artist I look forward to seeing more often.
