Woah I was expecting this to be great after all that hype... and judging from his previous works - i always believed him to be an extraordinary storyteller. ALL that went to @*#$! with this EP. He's just rapping about bitches - there were only 2 solid tracks on this showing the "real" him that we thought we knew. Oh well

After listening to his previous work, Emilio became one of my favorite new emcees. I was watching the countdown with excitement; hyped about the release... Comparatively not even close to what I was hoping for. Poor beat selection, flat hooks, and the subject matter was who cares. For me at least, this was a disappointment. He said he has a ton of material in the vault...maybe next time we'll get some of that storytelling and wordplay that was sitting in the backseat for this ride to drive the next one home. Still better than 80% of what's out these day though.

The comments above are on point.
Two things save this: 1. Rojas' mad skills 2. The M-Phazes produced tracks! |

This is a very complete project as he continues to show his depth as an artist. I think sometimes people want artists to stay in some bullshit "underground" box or sound. On this tape he gives us I Got It, and One Last Time along with Middle Finger and SPIC. What other artist could do that all on one project and have it make sense? I am excited to hear his future work. He is the truth.

Emilio never faulters with dope rhyme schemes and concepts!! Breaking Point is not short of brilliant and Emilio keeps out doing himself time and time again!!! From his days as Raks One aka Sycorax One and with Phocus... This dude hasn't even reached his peak yet!! Definitely a artist to fear if you thing you competition!!!

@keepzup completely agree with you man! It's insane that people complain about this record because it's not the "Emilio they know and come to expect" (as far as content goes at that).
I don't give a fvck if Emilio Rojas makes a tape talking about b!tches for the whole thing: he's still one of the best to ever do it. There are no complaints about his lyrics or his delivery because they remain impeccable. As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy he's doing well in lighter subject matters, I don't want to seem him going through what happened to Wale on his first album. I love Emilio's work and I want him to succeed, so I'm not going to be critical about his music getting commercial appeal. The production was what actually made listening to Rojas a completely new and enjoyable experience. It was fresh hearing Emilio on songs like "I thought you knew" or ""Pvssy and Cologne", he owned them. All around, production was outstanding and matched Emilio's greatness. |

Yo FredRico, if this tape is 5 star then "Life Without Shame" is a 10 yes? "The Natural" would be 7.5)
