Connecticut up-and-comer (and freestyle series contributor) Chris Webby has hooked up with DJBooth.net to bring fans his hotly-anticipated fourth street album, The Underclassmen.
The project features 18 new tracks’ worth of punchlines, metaphors and impeccable flows from the man who brought us “Go Back.” Included is a freestyle over Aloe Blacc‘s reader-acclaimed How to Make It in America theme song, “I Need a Dollar.”
Guest appearances on The Underclassmen include Mac Miller, Rotini, Tim Gallo, D. Lector and Smokahontas. Production comes courtesy of Kenny Beats, Philly Blunts, Evo and more!

I've been a fan of chris webby every since a friend put me on to his music and i've got to say he was one of the dopest out in 09 and still is, that white noise lp was the shit. Chris webby never ceases to disappoint.

Wow. This mixtape is the real deal. Webby has a very smooth flow, doesn't talk about all that bullsh1t all these mainstream fools are putting on terrestrial/satellite radio. Props Webby, you sir are the man, and have another fan.
Tracks that stuck out to me: #5 - Raising the Bar - using the dubstep track created by Mt Eden - Sierra Leone. I've listened to people try to put lyrics over this, but it's never clicked. This guy did that track justice! #7 - Stranger - Using a sample from the Doors - People are Strange. "Dropped the scissors and attacked rock with paper." Classic! |
