The evolution of this mixtape on DJ Booth was interesting because we had originally planned to put out a completely different mixtape through DJ Booth..a redux of a collection of 70's inspired tracks called "I Know Dat's Right."
At this same time, Bo and K-Dub were in the studio recording Skill Zone. DJ Z heard it and was interested in putting it out. Since at the time, I was wrapped up with "I Know Dat's Right," I still hadn't got the chance to really check out Skill Zone. So Bo came to me and said he wanted to roll with Skill Zone through DJ Booth before the year was up and I took a minute to give it a listen. The first thing that hit me was Skill Zone was unlike a typical mixtape because it had original production. I immediately wanted to put it out as well because it would be one of the first chances we got to show off Bo's song writing ability to original tracks. Prior to this, everything we have released on a major scale digitally has been mixtape type tracks over jacked beats. Skill Zone is classic Bo...reflective, hungry, humorous, honest...all at the same time. We arent making any money from this so you can at least trust your boy when I advise you to take out 30 min from your day and stream this through your headphones while you are at the crib or the job. If you aren't a fan at the end of that 30 min, then listen to it again and change your opinion. |

Really feeling that this mixtape is on the level of album. To take a chance to use original beats really shows the guts that Arkansas Bo has. It is great to hear a lyricist hit you with a clever punchline in a witty way but with such depth. This is something the game needs. It is always good to hear dope music, not to mention something that shakes the speakers when turned up.

I am lucky to have had this mixtape in my collection for a few months so I am biased in my rating. The production and thought that Bo and K-Dub put into this album is incredible.I personally didn't think Bo should have given this away but the powers that be stated otherwise. This guy should be given major push from his label.
