Reader-acclaimed up-and-comer Shane Eil has hooked up with DJBooth.net and FLüD Watches to bring listeners his highly-anticipated sophomore set, I Can Do Better.
Hosted by DJ Skee, the project features 16 fresh new tracks from the L.A. repper, including reader-approved leaks “Let’s Ride,” “The Night Is Young,” “When We Were Kings,” and more.
All songs on the album are produced* and written by Shane Eli and mixed by Damien Lewis at The Ninja Beat Club. Guest appearances come courtesy of DJ Critical Hype, Jason Caesar, Playboy Tre, Rittz, Aleon Craft, Ahmad and others.

Been waiting on this shit since I first heard this dude on When We Were Kings. In my opinion he's one of the best new artists out. Only four tracks in and I can tell this shit is CLASSIC.

As this dude's brother I'm always gonna be biased when it comes to anything Shane does.. But after giving this album 3 objective listens, I can honestly say from purely a listener's standpoint that this album is a classic from top to bottom.. Beats, rhymes, cohesiveness.. It's all there.. If you don't like this album you don't like great music.. This is hip hop in it's purest form..

Not even half way thru the project and I have to say another talented magician on the mic that won't get to hypnotize the world with his talent. Congrats on getting the rep and support. I hope to one day see you on the screen, big, tv and on. Clap for him folks clap for him

 I Can Do Better is a solid mixtape. It was worth the wait. Personally, I think all of the leaks are some of the best songs on the mixtape. My personal favorite song is When No One Cares. I'm looking forward to what's in store for Shane.

Outstanding! Shane Eli demonstrates his dynamic range as a artist and producer on this new album -- from the symphonic sounds of Boarding Pass, to the soulful groove of If I Don't Make It. His lyrics are alternately soul-baring, upbeat and profound. Nice features by guest artists add another layer. Great production values.

I cant stop spinning this. Its amazing, my personal favourite is Boarding Pass. Amazing production on all tracks, well done Shane.
If this guy doesnt get picked up by a good label, then Im done with music. Someone who can rap, produce and engineer his own project should be a definite for success. Ill be bumping this for a long time. |

nice and solid mixtape...the theme fot the opening song, though, is similar with the theme from the Bubba Sparxxx`s first song on his "Dark days, bright nights" album, you know, emabarking on a plane trip and such...
