After several years went by during what was a very stagnant career, singer J-Shin decided he needed to look in a different direction.  Signed to the formerly independent Slip-N-Slide Records in 1998, J-Shin was his own worst case scenario;  An artist who has finally been given a platform to shine with a long waiting list in front of him.  With artists such as Trick Daddy and Trina being the big push behind the label, J-Shin waited over a year after his initial signing to release his album ‘My Soul, My Life’ (which spurned the successful single, One Night Stand featuring Latasha Scott.)  Fast forward to 2006, J-Shin finds himself with upstart indie South Beat Records (Miami-based) and on the verge of releasing his sophomore album, ‘All I Got is Love.’

The difference between his two label situations is night and day.  With Slip-N-Slide his debut album scanned only 190,000 units, while getting only one single truly prioritized.  Now with South Beat Records, J-Shin has both a platform and means to achieve much more success and higher numbers.  The first step in that direction involves the album’s lead single, ‘Send Me an E-Mail’ featuring the production and voice talents of fellow Floridian, T-Pain.  Production credits continue to wind their way through the top of the food chain with names Eddie Berkeley, Teddy Bishop, Cool N Dre, Red Spyda, Jim Jonsin and The Unusual Suspects all contributing.

During his interview with DJBooth.net’s DJZ,” J-Shin talks openly about the lull in his career due to his label situations, his need not to regret any of the career moves he has made thus far and why sending an e-mail to a female (for him at least) is the best way you can communicate.  Listen to see if there is any disagreement from Z!
