Name:   equinoxproductions
Location: Greensboro, NC
Profession: Producer, DJ
About: Equinox Productions is a two fold company that includes a pre-production studio with a very fresh sound, and Equinox DJ Services that handles local events such as step shows, talent shows, and even weddings and anniversaries. EQUINOX means Equals.No.Ordinary.Xperience. Thats just what our music is. We feel that commercial music has lost the "art" that it once had. Equinox Production likes to push the envelope and make music that is unexpected, and new. We view DJing the same way. We play the newest music but keep a large catalog of classics to appeal to every taste. We now work side by side with FSM "Flight School Music" to provide music to a new ever-expanding audience. New talent on the FSM roster includes: Young Rush, Hendrix Law, Jones Andrews, and The Mecca of Rhymes. Equinox Productions began as a hobby, but we are in hopes of turning it into a full fleged recording company/studio/DJ Service. We have provided a couple of our favorite tracks at www.reverbnation.com/equinoxproductions for critiqueing. Please feel free to comment on our music. We hope you enjoy!

equinoxproductions's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

J.Gunn J.Gunn - “Shiraz Life”

“If you havn't heard the Earl Manigault Project yet your missing out on some dope music from Joshua Gunn! Great production here by The Jake, and a soulful Keith Corbett keeps Shiraz Life on repeat in my book.”

Stomp Through Promo Photo MaLLy - “Stomp Through”

“The beat is crazy, definitely not what I was expecting. Its refreshing to hear something so different. I like how Drew flipped the sample her on a beat with so much synth. Very unexpected.”

Places To Fly Promo Photo Aleon Craft - “Places To Fly”

“Funk at its best. Im not really familliar with Aleon Craft, but will definitely check them out now. Great track!”

Getting Home Promo Photo Koncept - “Getting Home”

“Nice track, especially the hook. J57's production is definitely on point. Bassline is simple, but sick.”

Something 2 Believe Promo Photo The Incomparable Shakespeare - “Something 2 Believe”

“This should be in a NBA documentary of some sort. The beat is awesome, but overshadows the lyrics which are very low-key. I like them, but the beat stands on its own. I love the concept though, so great job Shakespeare!”

equinoxproductions's TOP ALBUMS

The ArchAndroid Promo Photo Janelle Monáe - “The ArchAndroid”

“A couple of words to describe this album would be: Classic, Incredible, Eclectic. After I listened to it I didn't feel as many words coming to mind as I did emotions. It takes you back to good music from times past like Lauryn Hill (As was mentioned already), or even classics from even further back like Miles Davis. Music like this doesn't come along everyday. I saw her performance on the Ellen show not to long ago, and it was phenomenal! I can't begin to put it into a genre, maybe a category like "Timeless". I can only say to take a listen if you havn't yet, If you have then take another.”

equinoxproductions's TOP MIXTAPES & STREET ALBUMS

{title} Andrew Kelley Presents: Re-Up Gang Cracksploitation Vol. 2

“Hot mixtape from the Re-Up game. I was feeling the live band elements of tracks like Who Are You (ft. Juelz Santana). Just saw The Clipse live about a month ago in a smaller intimate performance. It was pretty dope, I think they're a great rap duo which you don't see that many out there who have been out as long as they have and had as many hits as they have.”
