Good Feeling Promo Photo Flo Rida - “Good Feeling”

“I knew I had to give this one some time to grow and it already has started. I definitely feel like this will hit on radio. I like the dubstep breakdown towards the end, but overall this is just more pop-rap that only Flo Rida could come up with. Goes right along with the rest of his work”

Lift Off Promo Photo The Throne - “Lift Off”

“Gets 4 stars from me. The production and Beyonce's vocals are amazing. And the repeated "Lift Off!" in the background is the finisher that gets the song stuck in my head. I do agree that The Throne was pretty underwhelming on the song, especially Kanye. I feel like if Kanye had stepped it up and/or Jay-Z got more bars in on the song, it would've been a truly classic track.”

6 Foot 7 Foot Promo Photo Lil Wayne - “6 Foot 7 Foot”

“This song is crazy! I'm surprised that anybody was hating on this at all! Seems like this is what everyone wanted from him when he was doin the auto-tune thing. I've been playin this since it came out and I still will. Weezy blew my mind with this one like I always knew he could. I hope the new CD is him rapping more like this because this is better than any track on Tha Carter 3. As for Cory Gunz, I would not have put him on here. Not because he was bad (since he was really good), but I can hardly take in what Lil Wayne just did. No rapper could ever follow what Weezy did on this track!”

I'm on One Promo Photo DJ Khaled - “I'm on One”

“Definitely one of the best songs DJ Khaled has ever released. The beat is sick, Drake's hook and verse is on, Rick Ross had a good flow on his verse. Lil' Wayne's verse was surprisingly unimpressive. He didn't seem like he was really into it. Definitely gonna get played all through the summer!”

J Roc the Legend's TOP ALBUMS

Take Care Promo Photo Drake - “Take Care”

“Pretty much in agreement with Nathans review here. I feel like Drake displayed a variety of sounds and sides of his artistry on this album. Not only that, but he did it in a way that feels cohesive. This is what his fans love to hear from him, seamlessly flowing in and out of rhymes and croons. I like that he beefed up the album a little bit to try and give it that epic So Far Gone kind of feel, however it ended up with about as much fluff as So Far Gone had as well (we certainly all could've done without Practice). I'm not going to go too much into the arguing here, but anyone that's so anti-Drake that they dismiss him from being a hip hop artist is at least a little ignorant and close-minded. I understand that not everybody is going to be a fan, but Drake has proven and continues to prove on quite a few tracks on this album that he can keep up rhyme wise with pretty much any name in hip hop, mainstream or not. Favorite Tracks: Underground Kings, Headlines, Marvins Room, We'll Be Fine, HYFR, Cameras, Crew Love”

Cole World: The Sideline Story Promo Photo J. Cole - “Cole World: The Sideline Story”

“So I've heard a couple of tracks here and there from J. Cole, but this is the first time I've really listened to an entire body of work from him. I never got around to hearing his mixtapes, but apparently I need to. I'm very impressed with this album and I now understand all the hype that's been building up about him. Overall, I agree with Nathan on the review tho. I don't think any of the songs are flat out bad, but there are definitely some that feel out of place, like "Mr Nice Watch" and even "Can't Get Enough." However, songs like "Never Told" and "Lost Ones" totally make me understand why J. Cole gets the Nas comparisons. Pretty much the entire last half of the album is nearly flawless. Nobody in mainstream rap today is making songs like this. It feels like there was pressure for Cole to come out with a track that would get more radio play. I'd personally rather him just do his thing. Overall a really good cd tho. Even though the album as a whole doesnt live up to the hype, there are quite a few songs that prove why the hype is there.”

The R.E.D. Album Promo Photo Game - “The R.E.D. Album”

“Good to hear that Game is finally back to form! I, like many others, was expecting this album to be his worst yet. I found myself pleasantly surprised. The City is one of his best tracks ever, featuring an amazing closing verse from Kendrick Lamar. I was also really impressed with tracks like Ricky and Born in the Trap. Other than those amazing songs, Speakers on Blast and Hello are really easy songs to jock in the car or vibe out to. I'll also throw in Martians vs. Golbins and Good Girls Go Bad as some repeatable tracks. I'm not a regular follower of Tyler, The Creator, but he sounded real cool. Then you have Drake, who rarely fails at contributing to any track he's on. Game sounds motivated on this album, and lyrically as good as I can ever remember him. When I think about it, he really hasn't sounded bad on his mixtapes much except when he's trying to make a hit for radio, which is really the only thing missing from the album. He's very good at filling a song with depth in a way that makes it compelling to listen to. If he can cruise at this level of quality on albums, he'll be alright.”
