Usher - “Lemme See”
“I like it, Usher sounds at his best (in my opinion) when he incorporates a little bit of hip-hop into his songs. His ability to balance that is what I like best. While Climax is more R&B than this, I like this style from Usher on occasion. Good song, but a better rapper could've helped it skyrocket; Ross kept it from being a 5.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

J. Cole - “Mr. Nice Watch”
“I was feelin' it; the dub step-style mixed with the musician-side of Cole definitely shows with the guitar breaks. It was something different, which is good, because hearing artists go in on generic beats is getting old. I think I was too hyped for this... either way, still a great track that makes me even more excited for Cole World: The Sideline Story.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Drake - “Headlines”
“@Dillon W. - Why does he need to be "hard"? And in reference to Pau Gasol, he's still a top 5 power forward in the league because he's talented, not "hard." People REALLY need to stop wanting Drake to be some hardcore-straight-rapping-nothing-else kind of rapper. The dude still murders flows whether there's some singing in it or not. The beat is crazy, and Drake does his style on this song like no one else can. Can't wait for Take Care.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Throne - “Otis”
“Now THIS is the kind of music I expected to hear from these two. Not the greatest track I've ever heard, but Jay-Z and Kanye definitely killed this track, especially Yeezy with the production. Can't wait for Watch The Throne!” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Diggy Simmons - “Copy, Paste”
“I like it, good song so it should do alright as the lead single. Agreed that "Click Clack Away" would kill radio with Bruno Mars, but still got me a little bit more excited for Diggy's album.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

J. Cole - “Cole World: The Sideline Story”
“I was expecting a lot from J. Cole, and he delivered better than I can remember anyone doing it on their debut album. If you are looking for a nearly flawless album that displays one major contributor to the very bright future of hip-hop, then look no further. Cole World, no blanket.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Throne - “Watch the Throne”
“Jay-Z and Kanye West had the pressure of putting out a classic, and they definitely delivered. They touched a number of topics throughout the album that gave it multiple dimensions for fans of every kind of hip-hop, and the overlying theme of religion, power, and success. Kanye focuses more on himself while Jay-Z relates a lot of the issues to the big picture, but both can connect with the listeners on various levels, which is part of the reason they have both become so successful. But one of the main reasons I like this album is because they are doing something different: different beats, different lyrics and flows, different swag, whatever you wanna call it, they’re moving hip-hop forward in a direction that it hasn’t reached yet. At times, the album seemed kinda separated (but there are little 15 second outros at the end of some songs, so maybe that’s what they wanted, who knows), but it doesn’t do enough to really take away from any of the music itself. So, what did we get with Watch The Throne? I believe we got exactly what most of us expected: lyricism, really great sounding beats, and two of the greatest hip-hop artists of all-time putting together something that will definitely go down in hip-hop history as a classic. Do yourself a favor and pick up this CD so you can say you were a part of a great moment in music (preferably the physical copy because the artwork is crazy). To Kanye West and Jay-Z, thank you. Big Sean - “Finally Famous”
“Big Sean definitely delivered with his debut album, and it greatly surpassed my expectations. Every song is a quality track worth listening to, and No I.D.’s production really brought the album to another level. All of the guest features fit well, and Sean’s verses and flows are always on point. The only “problem” with this album would be that Sean’s subject matter that he raps about seems to be kinda repetitive at times, but I’m not expecting him to have an enormous amount of life experience to relay to us in his songs at this point in his career. Despite this, the entire album really has a positive feel to it, and that’s always enjoyable. When someone’s been working at something their entire life and finally achieves it, the ability to convey that feeling really sticks with me. Sean has this special ability, and you can sense it in his flow and delivery. Congratulations Big Sean, you have definitely released an album of truly G.O.O.D. Music. Boi.” K-Man Kizzle's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
