Samurai's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

Rock City Rock City - “Dark Cloud”

“I really like this. The lyrics are good and on-point, the beat has a hopeful tone that matches perfectly, everything is just good. I didn't like some of Rock City's music in the past, but this may change my mind.”

“I'll just call this what it is: an above-average pop song. Not my style, but I understand why these types of tracks exist. I'll throw in an extra star for a good verse from Travie.”

Fast Lane Promo Photo Bad Meets Evil - “Fast Lane”

“Ehhh...i'm not really diggin this one... PSYCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE THIS?!?!?!?!?!?! This is in my top 5 of all time. It will be a legitimate surprise if this doesn't get a perfect rating.”

“"You are hearing bars like the arrogance of Kit Kat." That's all I have to say.”

D12 D12 - “Fame”

“This song is pretty good... And then you're hit with Em absolutely going off and you have to listen to the verse again and again and again because you can't get over the sheer anger that shines through his words and it intoxicates you and you can't get enough so then you have to go listen to "Despicable" and other assorted Eminem to get more of the delicious hatred that flows through Eminem's veins.”

Samurai's TOP ALBUMS

Lasers Promo Photo Lupe Fiasco - “Lasers”

“I completely agree with what Mike Dreams said. You can have pop records that hit radio and the clubs, but still have some deep meaning to them. So although it's disappointing that the album didn't end up being all Lupe's ides, the whole thing is still solid. Most, if not all, of the songs are enjoyable to listen to, and there all still those tracks like "All Black Everything" that give you pure Lupe. Especially with the problems with Atlantic becoming public, his fanbase knows which records are of his mind and which are of the label's. So overall, the album still has to be considered a success. Lupe made good music, got his point across on a few joints, and finally got the thing released. No way this can go lower than a four.”

Samurai's TOP MIXTAPES & STREET ALBUMS

{title} Prote-J - Dope Raps & Kit Kats

“This whole thing is solid. A must download. My favorite: Grenade (Remix). Don't know why but it gets me.”

{title} Spree Wilson - The Never Ending Now

“I mostly listen to rap and tend to not stray from that realm very often. But this is just too good. It's impossible to dislike any song on here, which is VERY rare. Love You Better is my top track, probably because it's the most rap song on here. This whole thing is a straight up classic though.”

{title} Jared Evan - Back & Fourth

“It's always nice when free mixtapes come out and end up better than most albums. It's like an early birthday present from a generous artist. This mixtape is such a project. My favorites: Weight of the World, Embers, and Shackles & Chains.”
