Snoop Dogg - “Ego Trippin'”
“This album is one of snoop's best! about 1/4 of the way through you feel like this may be his best album yet!!! teddy riley & dj quik's contributions do not go unnoticed. as a matter of fact, they should have done the entire album together. the only downfall is that he caters to everyone rather than focusing on the vibe that he initally opens up with on the album. as the tracks go on, ego trippin' becomes harder to catergorize. he has tracks geared for the 80's, his wife, down south, west coast, neptunes fans, even country head's will be happy to hear everlast contribute on a johnny cash dedication. i just think he goes in to many directions and the feel of the album isn't consistent at all. don't get me wrong, the highlights far outweigh the duller moments. it's a quite refreshing album and certainly better than anything else that has come out recently. With 20 tracks and a hot intro where snoop says "i took my time with this one" you really can't go wrong purchasing it. i would have liked to hear from Soopafly a little more or have another Shawty Redd track but the QDT (Quik, Dogg & Teddy) connection more than makes up for it. If anything it gets you souped up for an album coming from these guys. Besides the singles, highlights include Press Play, SD is Out, Gangsta Like Me, Been Around tha World, Let It Out & Can't Say Goodbye. It's good to see Snoop really exploring new sounds and expanding his resume.” djeclectric's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
