Nas - “Untitled”
“Maybe the album's goin over my head, but I wouldn't quite call this one a classic. I enjoyed the album a lot, but maybe its just cause I'm not a Nas fan and I'm not 100% into this type of stuff. Hey, let's be real, my favorite album is Press Play, not exactly the same style as Nas lol. I went out and bought this album out of respect for what Nas is trying to do, and I don't regret spending my money on it. It's definitely an amazing body of work that is lyrically on another level. "Hero" is a great single, "Black President" is cool, and "Breathe" and "America" are also really good. But I didn't care much for songs like "Sly Fox" and "Untitled." Still an amazing album, tho. I would put it over the UnderGround Kingz album, but not Jay-Z's American Gangster or Lupe Fiasco's The Cool.” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Usher - “Here I Stand”
“I know ppl that hate on this album and its really just cause its not "Confessions." People really need to get "Confessions" out of their mind and listen to the album itself. I really agree with Nathan's thoughts on the song "Appetite." That song is easily one of the best of the album. "Something Special" was an awesome acoustic song and it was something different for Usher. "Moving "Mountains" is a good chioce for a 2nd single, even if the video does suck lol. Another really good one is "Lifetime." I could play that one over and over. On a side note, this album goes really well with Robin Thicke's "Evolution of Robin Thicke" album. "Love In This Club" and the remix with Beyonce and Lil Wayne are also standouts, but I'm not gonna go into detail on the songs we've heard a million times. To use some analogies, Usher's albums go together like sex, in terms of the song quality. The albums "My Way" and "8701" had the foreplay/warm-up songs and "Confessions" was the height of his talent, the climax lol. Now we have "Here I Stand," the "spooning after the climax" album lol. In some ways its just as good as the climax itself, but ulitmately it doesn't quite measure up. If you can learn to appreciate it for what it is, you will love it. Lol sorry this was so long!!!” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lil Wayne - “Tha Carter III”
“It didn't quite live up to all the hype, but it lived up to most of it!!! I went out and bought the album the day it came out and I'm so glad I did. This album is pretty sick, even tho its pretty long. Sure it goes in many different directions, but that's how it is in Lil' Wayne's world. Got Money has grown on me to the point that its a sick song to ride to. Have you heard the part where he does the "umbrella-ella-ella-eh-eh-eh?" THAT GOT ME HOOKED! Other cool songs are "Comfortable," (super-tight Babyface hook) "Mrs Officer," and "You Aint Got Nuthin." (great to hear from my boy Juelz again) If u got the bonus version, then you got the song "Prostitute 2." It wasn't quite as good as the first one, but its still cool.” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Mariah Carey - “E=MC² ”
“Ok, there are a lot of great potential singles on this album. "I Stay In Love" is a lot like her hits from her last album, as is "Love Story," "Last Kiss," and "Thanx 4 Nothin." "Side Effects" is a standout song that commands attention because of the emotion that pours out of it and because you know what she's singing about. I might get addicted to some other songs off this album, but I believe the #1 song on this album is "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time." DJ Toomp tried his hand at R&B and struck gold wit Mariah! "Migrate" is also a good club song. I think her "Emancipation of Mimi" album is slightly better tho, but only slightly.” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Diddy - “Press Play”
“This is one of my favorite albums ever. I love how he turns it into a story of fallin in love and heartbreak and all that jazz. The dance songs are sick, but the slow songs like After Love are amazing and are full of emotion. This album has great guest spots and amazing production. My favorites are After Love, Partners for Life, Last Night, and Tell Me, but there isn't a song that I don't like.” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Rick Ross - “Trilla”
“Definitely a banger! My favorite tracks are Here I Am, The Boss, Speedin, and Maybach Music. Luxury Tax is pretty good, too. I agree that he can do better than this, but this will hold me over for now.” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Danity Kane - “Welcome to the Dollhouse”
“The first half of the album was sick with all the party songs and stuff. Pretty Boy is a sick song just for the first 5 seconds alone. Did u guys hear that sick Danja beat? Oh and ectasy is a little on the addictive side. I agree that the slower songs lacked emotion tho. Anybody who watched the show saw that they weren't very interested in the slower mid-tempo songs. My biggest complaint is that the interludes would've been great if they were full songs. I still say that the dance tracks are sick tho!!!” J Roc the Legend's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
