The Throne - “Watch the Throne”
“It's not the album that's on point, its the review. Damn, you read my mind, I swear. I 100% agree that Kanye made this album and that he is more relevant than Jay, although I do love Jay-Z as well. As far as the two tracks I have on repeat, it is "Ni**as in Paris" and "Gotta Have It". When I read that part of the review, I felt as if I had written it myself, its so true. The deeper lyrical songs like "Murder to Excellence" are great, but when you sample 3 James Brown tracks in 1 song like the Neptunes did on "Gotta Have It", that sh** cra ("Ni**as In Paris" quote). This album has it's flaws, like the monotonous "Otis", but this is as close to classic as it gets. Personally, I think both of these rappers have created classic albums on their own, so maybe next album from the Throne won't seem as rushed.” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Chris Brown - “F.A.M.E.”
“I purchased this album the day it came out, and having bought all 3 of his previous albums, this one is possibly the best along with his debut. My picks: Up To You, She Ain't You, Beg For It, Bomb, Paper Scissors Rock, all the singles. Trash: Next To You” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Miguel - “All I Want Is You”
“I love this album. Miguel's voice is definitely refreshing. "Sure Thing" is the best track on the album, alongside "Vixen". I hope his next single efforts excel as well as "All I Want Is You".” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Kanye West - “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”
“Classic album. Chris Rock helped MAKE Blame Game. Bink! killed the production on Devil In A New Dress. All of the Lights is phenomenal. Hell, even the 5 minutes of auto-tune at the end of Runaway is entertaining enough to make it through the whole 9-minutes of the song. Classic album.” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The-Dream - “Love King”
“I'm actually playing this album through for my 5th time as I type this comment. All of the promises he made about this being worth the wait and how he will retire seem to be sincere, but I hope he pulls a Jay-Z. This is by far the best R&B album I've heard during the first half of 2010. It is impossible to skip a certain 5 tracks on this album. They begin with Sex Intelligent, a cocky tale about The-Dream coaxing a woman to have sex with him. The remix, which begins in a sweet manner following the original, is even better imo. The rap is the highlight of the track, as was the rap on Put It Down from LvM. The third track, Yamaha, is modern-day Prince, very uplifting stuff. It seamlessly goes into Nikki Part 2, which I find just as good as the original, but on a happier note musically. It reveals how Nikki ruined his prior relationship. This transitions into Abyss, which further slams Nikki's bad deeds in a much harsher manner ("I could give a damn how harsh this may seem..."). It seems that this unhappy ending persuaded Dream to search for a booty call on "Panties To The Side", an upbeat, profanity-filled,raunchy jam about a quickie. That quickie turns more seductive on "Turnt Out", where he softly croons to the girl as he lays her down. With the new girl in his life, he gives the final middle finger to Nikki and every hater he has encountered in "Florida University", the closing track on his final album. Long live The-Dream, your legacy as a solo artist will prevail through the works of other artists, since you just so happened to decide to call it quits.” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Drake - “Thank Me Later”
“Classic album. So good that I need to break it down track by track. 1.Fireworks- From the crackling of fireworks to the lyrics about how Rihanna tore his heart up, this is a hella good opening track. Alicia provides soothing vocals. The album starts on a calm note. 2.Karaoke- A unique album cut. The beat is genius, first of all. The lyrics are random, but you can't help but respect the creativity put into it. 3.The Resistance- My least favorite on the album. It's raw, but the beat is a little off. Simplistic, but the lyrics carry a strong message. 4.Over- This song is a classic. The lyrics are on-point, and it takes multiple listens to catch every clever catchphrase. The production KNOCKS. Best choice for 1st single. 5.Show Me A Good Time- Classic Kanye beat. (I would love to know what it samples...) I can see this on the radio. 6.Up All Night- Possibly the hardest track on the album. Drake and Nicki both kill it. The beat brings "Hot Boyz" by Missy Elliott to mind, for some reason. 7.Fancy- You can't tell me that Swizz Beatz doesn't have some of the catchiest productions ever. Even if it was originally for MJB. (You can hear her vocals too...) 8.Shut It Down- Sexiest track on the album, courtesy of Drake's crooning and The-Dream's seductive style. This song is definitely the centerpiece of the album. 9.Unforgettable- Best track on the album. The Aaliyah sample was on point, and Jeezy's on the hook wasn't as bad as you would think. Radio smash waiting to happen. 10.Light Up- Drake and Jay-Z = Classic. This track is the best lyrically, a surefire highlight. 11.Miss Me- Grade A production, Drake and Wayne deliver smoking hot, extended verses. 12.Cece's Interlude- One of my personal favorites, it definitely stirs up some sexual emotions, perfect to set the mood. Shame it not a whole song. 13.Find Your Love- Classic. 808's & Heartbreak laced, but imo, this is actually better than that album because Drake can actually sing. Not saying that the lyrics are as deep as Kanye's but its fact that Drake is nicer to listen to. 14.Thank Me Now- Hot, yet repetitive beat from Timbaland. Perfect ending track though, I like the concept.” dillon_68's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
