K-Man Kizzle's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

5AM In Toronto Promo Photo Drake - “5AM In Toronto”

“Drizzy doesn't hit us with the "straight bars, no hook" son often, but when he does, it's usually fire (see "9AM in Dallas," "Ransom," "Lord Knows," etc.). Nothing less than I expected, a jam.”

Mirrors Promo Photo Justin Timberlake - “Mirrors”

“Timbaland must save his best beats/songs for Justin because everything they put out is FIRE. No one can do what JT does better than him (his soul/pop/R&B swag is all him). I wish he'd put music out more often, but maybe the timing and scarcity of his releases is part of what makes his music special. Straight jam, as expected.”

“Very good song from J. Cole, him and Miguel got a good vibe on tracks together. And I'm expecting this one to grow on me, keep it coming Cole...”

Amen Promo Photo Meek Mill - “Amen”

“Glad to see Meek Mill go a little outside of his usual style on this song, I like it a lot. And Drake does his thing, like usual, and Jeremih is doesn't help or hurt the song much to me. The beat is pretty minimalistic, but it's still pretty hot. Meek's really pushing his stock way up this summer, can't wait to see where it takes him.”

Lemme See Promo Photo Usher - “Lemme See”

“I like it, Usher sounds at his best (in my opinion) when he incorporates a little bit of hip-hop into his songs. His ability to balance that is what I like best. While Climax is more R&B than this, I like this style from Usher on occasion. Good song, but a better rapper could've helped it skyrocket; Ross kept it from being a 5.”

J. Cole J. Cole - “Mr. Nice Watch”

“I was feelin' it; the dub step-style mixed with the musician-side of Cole definitely shows with the guitar breaks. It was something different, which is good, because hearing artists go in on generic beats is getting old. I think I was too hyped for this... either way, still a great track that makes me even more excited for Cole World: The Sideline Story.”

Headlines Promo Photo Drake - “Headlines”

“@Dillon W. - Why does he need to be "hard"? And in reference to Pau Gasol, he's still a top 5 power forward in the league because he's talented, not "hard." People REALLY need to stop wanting Drake to be some hardcore-straight-rapping-nothing-else kind of rapper. The dude still murders flows whether there's some singing in it or not. The beat is crazy, and Drake does his style on this song like no one else can. Can't wait for Take Care.”

“Now THIS is the kind of music I expected to hear from these two. Not the greatest track I've ever heard, but Jay-Z and Kanye definitely killed this track, especially Yeezy with the production. Can't wait for Watch The Throne!”
