Distant Relatives Promo Photo Nas & Damian Marley - “Distant Relatives”

“3 words to describe this album: Inspirational, Powerful and Emotional Inspirational lyrics from Damian. Powerful verses and thoughts from Nas. Emotional beats and chorus' from Damian and Stephen Marley who i really thought came through on his contributions. this not only the best hip hop collabo in along time, but the shared theme is one of the most memorable and progressive ones in hip hop in recent memory. this is jus too good in every element not to be a classic.”

Thank Me Later Promo Photo Drake - “Thank Me Later”

“1.Fireworks (feat Alicia Keys)-Drakes way of lettin himself as well as everyone else kno he has arrived. through all of his struggles and successes, everything has led to today, which brings fireworks. 2.Karaoke-indeed a creative song, but i didnt get a very good understanding of Drakes angle here. i cant say much cuz i didnt feel much wen listenin to it. 3.The Resistance-a confident and cocky side of Drake here. i def mean this in a good way cuz its def a positive quality to have an edge and a chip on ur shoulder, especially wen u have been hyped up as much as Drake has. 4.Over-Strong lyrics and a thumpin beat mixed wit a smooth chorus presents a memorable track. however, i do believe it could be better. 5.Show Me A Good Time-Kanye and No I.D. went in on this beat. absolutely sick. from the beat, to the lyrics, to the chorus, this is a very catchy track and can easily see success as a single. one of my favs on the album. 6.Up All Night (feat Nicki Minaj)-this is simply Drake sayin hes gunna do it his way. he dont care wat others think. Nicki was rather forgettable, as is my overall opinion of the track. 7.Fancy (feat T.I., Swizz Beatz)-i gotta say, Swizzy has def made plenty better beats than this. lyrically, its an opinion and a mindset of a girl who contains a lil sumthin extra that others girls dont. 8.Shut It Down (feat Dream)-at 1st glance, it sounds a like a collabo masterpiece. as it turns out,its absolutely horrible. jus playin, its pretty damn good. i dunoo bout a masterpiece, but a solid, emotional babymaker which most emcees cant accomplish. 9.Unforgettable (feat Jeezy)-unfortunatley, i dont share the same opinion of the song as the title. its not bad, but i dont feel anything special. 10.Light Up (feat Jay-Z)-a high octane anthemic cut where everyone can appreciate Drake and Jay's full lyrical attack. im not a fan of Jay-Z, but he really rips it here. very nice... 11.Miss Me (feat Lil Wayne)-pretty good flow by Drake to start things off...then, Lil Wayne comes in with his trademark crazy, unorganized flow and brings the track down a bit. 12.Cece's Interlude-A waste of album space. 13.Find Your love- the most catchy, radio-friendly song off the album. overall, its not as good as his obvious influence here, Kanye, but it still makes for a unique and fun cut, which i personally really enjoy. 14.Thank Me Now-solid, pounding beat from Timbaland here for Drake to flow ova. sounds very good. also, i find Drakes flow here to be one of the most memorable and inspiring of the cd. very good way to close out an album. Now, the hype was so enormous for this cd, i dont think there was any way Drake could live up to it. however, this was still a high quality hip hop record. its hard to not search for weaknesses and jus appreciate the talent Drake and others display here, but the hype forces u into it. after listening, i honestly didnt find much weaknesses here. he he possessed a very steady combo of flows and vocals throughout while maintaining not bein heavily outshined by the A-team of appearances. i found this to be enjoyable and expect Drake to improve in the future. on a fianl note, im glad i didnt find this to be an outsatnading 5 star album. i believe this leaves much room for growth. 3.5 fav tracks: 1.Show Me A good Time 2.Light Up 3.Find Your Love 4.The Resistance 5.Fireworks”

Lazarus Promo Photo Travis "Travie" McCoy - “Lazarus”

“1.Dr. Feel Good- I really enjoy the beat and the verses, but i jus cant get w/the chorus. im jus not a big fan of Cee Lo's voice. still a rather enjoyable and solid track. 2.Superbad (11:34)- One of weakest tracks on the album. its has nothin that sticks out. mediocre beat, lyrics, and chorus. feels like a track that was jus thrown together too quickly. 3.Billionare- Def worthy of bein lead single material. im surprised this hasnt led to more sold album in its 1st week. Bruno Mars delivers a super fresh and memorable chorus which def is the best part of the song. Travie also sounds good with some rather cute and fun punchlines, which leads to a top track on the cd. 4.Need You- I hear this is bout him and Katy Perry's break-up. if it is, i dont blame him for makin a song in an effort to retrieve his former love before she weds Russell Brand. lol. after all, Katy Perry is the new #1 on Maxim 100. decent song. 5.Critical- Very interesting song here. this track is def geared in another direction. that direction is is punk rock. everything from the beat, to the lyrics indicates this. another good song. 6.Akidagain- Here we have the "Kids Anthem." an enjoyable song with lyrics that a kid can memorize and sing along too, as well as a very catchy chorus that i can see the fifth grade class singin to their parents at a concert in their auditorium. 7.We'll Be Alright- My fav song on the album. this has summer hit written all ova it. one of the most catchy and fun songs on an album that is full of them. i really feel like i can relate to this song cuz the lyrics feel like an everyday summer night for me and my friends. 8.The Manual- This is the darker side of Travie as he displays a more cutting edge flow. T-Pain comes in on the hook and brings the best work with him that he has produced in quite some time. overall, i thought this was one of the standout tracks. vid is ku too, if u wanna check it out. 9.After Midnight (It'll Burn)- This beat consists of another thumping rock sound and really catches ur ear from start to finish. the lyrics are light and fun as is the chous making for a song that belongs in the bars/clubs. easy to find urself nodding to this song. 10.Don't Pretend- Travie attempts to finish the album with a meaningful song in which he shares a sob story about how he was cheated on on by his girl. a very mature side of him, however, the track falls short of anything memorable. As you can tell by now, this album is full of enjoyable, summer party songs to have a good time to. after reading an interview with Travie, that was exactly his goal. mission accomplished. fav tracks: 1.We'll Be Alright 2.The Manual 3.Billionare 4.After Midnight (It'll Burn) 5.Critical”

Raymond v Raymond Promo Photo Usher - “Raymond v Raymond”

“yo yo...Rrrsher is here! i was impressed by the way the album came out. i was expecting an album with mostly 3 star songs wit a couple weak ones and a couple bangers. i was wrong. this is an album of decent 3 star songs and bangers. i didnt find one weak song on the whole cd. theres 2 reasons why this gets a 4 star rating over a 3: 1.No weak songs. every song is listenable at least. 2.Half of the songs r bangers. there r no 5 star songs, but wen half of them bang and the other half r solid album tracks...yes, u got a bangin album. all these r bangers and my favs: 6.Making Love (Into The Light) 5.Okay 4.Venus Vs. Mars 3.Foolin' Around 2.Guilty 1.OMG- this song is bangin hard right now. the beat is ridiculous and Usher sounds so smooth over it.”

“def full of bangers. this cd is made for the stereo in your car and for the parties u attend. some songs make me go krazy, others dont do anything for me tho. fav songs: Across The World, Krazy, Hotel Room Service, Girls, I Know U Want Me, Give Them What They Ask For, and Daddys Little Girl”

Loso's Way Promo Photo Fabolous - “Loso's Way”

“yo, i agree that Loso does have some inconsistency to his game and has some inconsistency on this album, but the inconsistency consists of a very small part of this album. (every rapper has some inconsistency.) Like Dillon said, "most tracks are fire." i def agree. im kinda surprised no one is talkin bout "Everything..." that is the best track on the album. i thought Loso had sick flow throughout. He already has 3 singles out. i see at least 2 more (Makin Love, Last Time)= 5 singles. that sounds like quality to me. i think Loso has proven himself as a great rapper. i think its funny that so many ppl on this site say Loso is underrated and then rate or comment on this album and say he and the album isnt that good. Loso earned my respect a long time ago. if he hasnt earned ur respect yet, he should wit this album. if 5 albums all consisting of hits, one of the catchiest flows in the game, the top feature out there for ladies jams, the ability to put out street/club/ladies jamz w/quality doesnt earn ur respect, ur jus hatin or dont like hip-hop. fav tracks:Everything...,Throw It In The Bag,Makin Love,My Time,Last Time, Money Goes, Honey Stay, The Fabolous Life.”
