Mic Legacy Mic Legacy - “Radio ft. Skyzoo”

“Can't to believe that this BANGER is the track with the least ratings (and by assumption the least listens?) of the day!!! I love this old school appeal with this new school feel. The energy here is high on both the soulful, yet head-knocking, production as well the flows. Kudos to Mic Legacy for coming hard on this...and I think Skyzoo sounds great on most of his cuts and guest verses - this one being no exception. It's my favourite for today and I'll definitely be looking out for more Mic Legacy in the future...”

Nappy Roots Nappy Roots - “That's Right”

“KA-BOOM! Nice big names for the freestyle series here on the booth...so sick - well done. Always liked this Akon instrumental and the Nappy Roots sounded great on this. While not the most technically superior freestyle (as compared to others from the series...) - this was just overall a great track. If that 40 Akerz business is as good as that Humdinger, we're all in for a nice treat. Kentucky & Georgia represent!!”

Rick Ross Rick Ross - “Maybach Music Pt. 2 ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne, & T-Pain”

“This song is an absolute BANGER CLASSIC!!!! The hook is insane, the production by Justice League is perfect. Kanye yes. Rick Ross yes. And Weezy, YES!!! It's pretty much apples and oranges comparing it to the original....If the music is doing the talking (which I think is really what SHOULD be...) then Rick is winning the current war he's fighting....no names mentioned. ...They all left the auto-tune off of this banger and kudos indeed....looking forward to Deeper Than Rap...CLASSIC 2009 BANGER STATUS!!!”

Serius Jones Serius Jones - “Help (I Been Robbed)”

“Best of today's new songs...definite banger. Loving the uptempo soul sampling for the production. Jones' flow meshes perfectly with the beat. His lines have the perfect amount of humour behind them. Will be looking out for some honey cone too...! Unsigned? Seriusly? Hopefully not for long...”

DJ Quik & Kurupt
DJ Quik & Kurupt - “Hey Playa (Moroccan Blues)”

“I'm biases toward Quik, always been a big fan...and even though he's changed up his style a little bit from when he was REALLY killin' it (Safe N Sound - Under Tha Influence), I'm still lovin' it. To be honest I've also always a had a soft spot for young gotti - "Streez is a Mutha" maybe being one of my top 10 albums... With all the "slash" artists these days, give some props to Quik for maintaining as a producer/emcee for 20 some years now...damn. To know that Quik flipped this sample from Bizarre Foods makes it that much more amazing. I love the originality and they both spit quality verses. Very good collabo, better than "Wathca Wanna Do" but I still expect more from them in the future... @ Anyone - I've been trying to find the story behind the falling out of Quik and his old crew: 2nd II None, Hi-C and ESPECIALLY fixxer mate and long time collab-mate AMG! Does anyone know the source of this BEEF?? Did anyone else hear that diss track "F**K Y'all" they put out....I'm looking for answers. Oh yeah...3.5...but rounding up to a BANGER.”

Ace Hood Ace Hood - “Overtime ft. Akon & T-Pain”

“Before even listening to the track, you can almost expect what you're going to be hearing....Sick production by the Runners, one of the better synth-based production teams out there right now...Some serious Florida State sound on this one...it bangs hard in would sound great in the whip...Ace's energy is hard (as always) but I feel like his flow could be smoother and more defined....I'm giving this 3.5, but because T-Pain lost his teeth I'll round up to a 4. almost a banger...”

Wale Wale - “Chillin' ft.Lady Gaga”

“Up there in my most listened songs of the moment right now - in HEAVY rotation...While Wale steps away from his normal lyrical content, I think it's good to see him having some fun with this track. To be honest, the first time I heard I was skeptical but now I'm a believer...straight FIRE! Even Lady GaGa sounds good on this, the best she's sounded yet on ANYthing in my humble opinion... I think I'm coming to realize that I pretty much don't NOT like anything that Cool & Dre lay their hands on....while definitely behind some serious hits in the past few, I think they remain underrated themselves... I'm hoping this puts WALE out there for the masses so that they can be expose to one of the best and most talented "on the up n up" emcees in the game right now. 2009 Classic Status!!”

Method Man & Redman
Method Man & Redman - “Mrs. International”

“While their last two were just amazing, this one is refreshing to hear as it's got a little bit more of that laid back style. They sound as fresh as ever, and the fact that their experimenting more with production this time around (Blackout 2, so far) is awesome...they used to more just stick to that east coast Erick Sermon vibe which was good at the time but might no longer be relevant today...Meth and Red are BACK - Banger! Will this, however, renew as much interest in them as they had when they were doing right guard commercials and their own sitcom?!?! Probably not, but that's a good thing. BIG DOGS!”

Busta Rhymes Busta Rhymes - “Conglomerate [Single Version] ft. Lil Wayne & Jadakiss”

“Man, I have to say I loved the original, even the Jeezy verse but I'm Jeezy fan so I'm biased. This track is sick, definitely the best that Busta has put out recently amongst the myraid of tracks he has dropped as of late. It's refreshing to hear Weezy sans auto-tune but unfortunately his slighly lacklusture effort is overshadowed by Busta and especially Jada who rips his verse apart, awesome. Production is fresh...BANGER! Looking forward to the new Busta album, and I'm really hoping its gonna be good, for his and my sake.”

Wiz Khalifa Wiz Khalifa - “Runnin'”

“While not as refined and polished as Khalifa's previous hits in the booth, what do you expect, 'tis a freestyle. I'm waiting patiently for either more material from Wiz and for him to blow up...clearly the production here is sick as the original was a classic....was lucky enough to see Pharcyde do this at RTB last year but I digress. Not the best freestyle I've heard at the booth, but definitely floating near the top...”

Asher Roth Asher Roth - “Perfectionist ft. Beanie Sigel & Rock City”

“FEELING THIS...very much so. The production is tight (love that piano and guitar), and Rock City kills the hook. As for Asher, his flow here is mighty. Comparisons to Em? I think the more you listen, especially the second and thrid verses, the more you hear some Slug (from Atmosphere) in there as well...So even if Asher's somewhere between the two that would give him HIS OWN STYLE...which I have say I'm diggin'. Thinking I liked this more than than Be By Myself, although both are totally different songs.... Solid all around here....keep it up Ash and the album should be cooking (just like BEANS on this track!)”

Rick Ross Rick Ross - “Usual Suspects ft. Nas & Kevin Cossom”

“Wow. It's amazing. This track is best of new Ross bangers yet (and yes, in my opinion, they have all been bangers)...The production on this is soooo smooth, so perfect, give it up for the inkredibles - credit where credit is due, truth. If the album is all like this and the other leaked singles, while maybe not quite a classic, we'll see it top 5's of the year no doubt. I'm excited. Ross totally holds his own in his own way and you have to agree that much like the Game, he's constantly improving. He's definitely come a long way since his appearances on Trick Daddy's Thug Holiday album a few years back. Nas? he just flat out scud missiles this track...he's just that good. props to ultimate for posting the lyrics, they're amazing to read but when Nas's spits'em it's hip hop heaven. @FredRico, totally agree with you. 50 hasn't destroyed anything...can you name anyone you know who's not going to cop Ross's album just cause 50 is on the net making cartoons? Hell no! Most of these cats hating on Ross will probably D/L the deeper than rap album anyway 'cause they secretly can't deny the quality. Funny thing is that same cats will probably also be D/L Before I self destruct too!!! While both tracklists for their albums look impressive, 50 isn't putting too much out these days (although expect to see much more of him and the three headed monster in Q3 & 4)...while Ross is getting his album about and releasing heat all the time. It's gonna be a good year for hip hop....Banger!!”

Crooked I Crooked I - “If You Ever Hear Me”

“It's ammunition like this that often makes me lean toward Crooked as the most talented member of Slaughterhouse (just announced for Rock the Bells!!! yeeeaaaahhh!) although Royce can give him a run for his money. This track is sick, period. Sick production from King Tech - proving himself as multi-talented individual indeed. Crooked is come at you, me and everybody on this one. He's like a lyrical flame-thrower that consistently never disappoints. Talk about a man who's about Quantity AND Quality. I'm eager to find out his secret, cause as of right now (and even since his death row days) he just can't do wrong. Don't believe me? Check out his verse on "Gangsta Rap" from the DPG 2000 album. BANGER!”

Sharam
Sharam - “She Came Along ft. Kid CuDi”

“Wow...I'm still speechless and I've now been listening to this masterpiece for about a week now. Production = Tight. Patsy Cline Hook = Tight. Kid CuDi = Tight. CuDi is pretty much the perfect artist to have on this track...he sounds brilliant and this can only add to his significant buzz right now, as it should to Sharam's as well. This song is in HEAVY ROTATION for me and I'm making sure as many of my closest friends here it as well...if you're always complaining about the radio, forget the radio and come to the BOOTH! Probably my fave track of the year so far. Just picked up the Sharam album yesterday (2CD) and it doesn't disappoint (although don't expect too many of the same type of joints as this....so hard hip hoppers beware).”

Chamillionaire Chamillionaire - “Creepin' (Solo) ft. Ludacris & The Game”

“Certified Heat. Straight up the missing members of those who should be on a "swagger like us" track, I'm pretty much assuming (or I know that) they're not on pt. 2. But this is a much improved reboot of an already fantastic and classic sounding King Koopa song. Cham came hard on the original but destroys it here. Game is improving all the time, wouldn't norally think that he could keep up lyrically with these other two but he holds his own. And Luda? Well he never disappoints and other artists must be getting skeptical about featuring him. While it makes the track better, you're more often than not likely to get 187'd on your own song. Why not on the radio? Because it isn't "Ridin'" that's why and that's what most of the general public remembers. I'm not the general public so: 2009 classic!!”
