Gorillaz - “Stylo (Chiddy Bang Remix)”
“"In November 2009, up-and-coming emcee/producer duo Chiddy Bang spun a sample from Kid CuDi/MGMT collabo Pursuit of Happiness into The Opposite of Adults (KIDS), a reader-acclaimed meditation on cash, music and youth." Editor's Note: The sample wasn't spun from Cudi's Pursuit of Happiness - a song which was produced by RATATAT; the sample actually comes from MGMT's hit song KIDS off of their album Oracular Spectacular which came out sometime in late 2007/early 2008 - hence the name of the song.... As for this track, I like it. I was really feeling that Swelly Expressy Mixtape that Chiddy Bang put out and this is in the same vein. They're having fun and they're staying original (I mean as much as they can be when remixing tracks by others...)” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wiz Khalifa - “Goodbye”
“Mos definitely a banger...I've been excited about a Wiz Khalifa album ever since I heard "say yeah" eons ago...I've got to agree that I'm pretty much always impressed with anyting he puts out...can't wait 'till Nov. 24th. @ DJ Booth Crew I'm experiencing technical difficulties accessing the website from my home as I am always re-directed to some other spam-ish type websites? I'm ok when at work, but at home I can't even get to the main page without another one loading up on me, I also have no way of getting back? What the deal? I'm pretty frustrated as this website is for sure a daily visit and is without a doubt a favourite of mine. I've tried with IE and Chrome...what's happening here? any help? anybody????” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Jay-Z - “Empire State of Mind”
“This track has "classic" status written all over it. Not much else to say about this one, except for that I also really enjoyed the rest of the album....” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nipsey Hussle - “Gangsta's Life”
“Are you kidding? I'm pulling for Nipsey, hard. Every track he's featured on in the Booth is equaled to money in the bank. Great to hear some west coast fresh....keep on keepin' on on this head knockin' west coast BANGER....snoop hold's his own but Hu$$le is shinin'. Four stars.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Fabolous - “Everything Everyday Everywhere”
“Fab hasn't really strayed to far from the formula he used on From Nothin' to Somethin' but personally I have absolutely no problem with that considering that album was one of my faves of '07. So far what I've heard of Loso's Way is getting me excited. The production, the hook, and Fab's bars all come together to make this a summer banger for sure! Future single no doubt about it. 4.5 HOT!” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Killer Mike - “In My City”
“Killer Mike?!...Killer Track! Production by Cannon is on point and there never anything to complain about when it comes to Mike's lyricism. Hopefully being with Grand Hustle will help Mike get a little more recognized and it's also good that TIP was only on the hook or else he'd be garnering all the attention this one. Agree with spinz on the slight UGK Vibe, but to me that only makes it better. Banger. At home OR in the trunk.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Young Dro - “On Fire”
“Hot production on this one....Jim Jonsin is grinding like hell these days and sounding great. Although lyrically Dro does a pretty decent job, you can't expect him to drop a lyrically heavyweight track to put himself back in the game...he needed some hot radio bangin' production and a head knockin' track...nothing complicated - perfect for mainstream re-exposure. Grand Hustle DO IT! Great summer banger... PS I don't know why though, I've always been a bit partial to Dro so my review might be a bit biased. I don't know what it is about him, but I pull for Dro nonetheless...” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lil Boosie - “Better Believe It ft. Young Jeezy & Webbie”
“Another guilty pleasure for thagrizz....wowziers something about this crew and how they deliver big singles is fresh...when they try big, the go big....this track is right up there with the rest of the Trill Fam...this shit is tight, no doubt and you better believe it.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Jeremih - “Birthday Sex”
“Not normally my cup of tea...but this has "#1 on the Charts" written all over this. Hopefully he gets a strong push from Def Jam as he deserves it. It's nice to see some more competition hitting the stage in the usually "3 or 4 at the top" world of dude R&B. Banger.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Fabolous - “It's My Time ft. Jeremih”
“Heat. Banger. Fire. Hit. I just gave my two cents on "in the bag" before I decided to listen to this...and I'm happy I saved the best for last. This street single is a 2009 lavarock. I'm floored. Runners production is near classic status. Fab sounds perfect on the heavy drums. And give Fab and Def Jam some credit for Jerimih some time to shine and shine hard and not having to get You-know-who and You-know-who #2 on the hook...keeping it Def Jam. This lets me know that Fab hasn't gone soft(ish) - the last single worried me. Roll out the red carpet and let Loso through...I'll be copping the album for sure. I think DJ Clue (Desert Storm!!!) is also thanking Fab as well...” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Clipse - “Kinda Like A Big Deal ft. Kanye West”
“I would have to say BANGER - through and through. I think with any Clipse bomb-track, it always takes a few listens for you to get hooked. Pusha T and Malice come hard to the table (both lyrically as usual and with great flow) and the production is Neptunes-soundish, but Neptunes before they got toooo far out (progressive?). Anyway, maybe everyone has gotten used to Ye's new style if about only 50% of those are feeling him on this, cause I personally was happy to hear him sans auto-tune with some on point griminess which comes as close he he'll ever get to the virginia natives. I saw Clipse live in January and the concert was fire. The house was packed and was going nuts, they know they have their fan base out there without having to sell their soul for radio spins. I hope they maintain like this till the casket does drop but I hope I don't have to wait that long for this next album 'cause if this is just a case of what's to come then make way for another classic. @ everyone, how can many of you listen to the new em track and give him passes and excuses on dropping his first single (arguably second) of the album and keep on sayin' "don't worry, it's not that good, but we know Em, it's his first forumlaic single, so it's actually awesome." Then you listen to this and many are saying "kinda disappointed" or "not really feeling this"...I don't get it, this here is real hip hop from some of the most underrated. Listen to this song a few more times, then tell me I'm wrong. Like I said: BANGER.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Neako - “I'm On It ft. Vertical Jones”
“There are so many things going on here on this track. Upon the first listen it could sound a little mixed-up, all over the place and confusing....but in the end it all comes together so nicely. Got a very space-age feel to it, but the "tribal" beat over top makes it what it is. I'm ok with auto-tune on a hook as it's become pretty standard these days and if it's done right it tends to work well, like here. Alleged Drake "copy-cat" or not, NeakO shows up with a Banger - and also, comparisons aside, if it sounds good, who the eff cares?” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The Embassy Music Board - “My Life”
“This sounds good right here. They each bring a great original flow with their turns on the mic...sounds great over the production...and the production?? Fantastic. Much respect going out to Don Cannon. It's refreshing to here great production these days that isn't always necessarily synth-driven (as so many hits and bangers seem to be these days). Much respect to EMB and this Thursday Banger.” thagrizz's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
