cb126405's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

Jay Sean - “Hit the Lights”
“I agree about always having to compete with himself for the success of Down, but this may be his best shot at it yet. Huge club appeal while still riding the bandwagon of the euro dance hip pop that's big right now. With another Wayne feature, this is sure to be a smash.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

MURS - “It's No Surprise”
“Very exciting kind of sound for Murs and TM, I really like the direction of this record. Full of energy and definitely one for the clubs. A fun, catchy, and hilarious track that can't help but to put any listener in a good mood.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

King Mez - “Champions”
“This is the real H.A.M! Kidding, but really, this record will sadly get so overlooked, and it has the same approach and wow factor as the Kanye/Jay song did. Love this epic production and Mez went absolutely hard on the track. Definitely one for the playlist!” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gilbere Forte' - “Train Lights”
“Wow. Gilbere really never, ever disappoints. That sample was sooo dope, and the snare pattern knocks! Vocal wordplay is on point and the track has an overall true hip hop feel to it.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Lupe Fiasco - “Words I Never Said”
“Not meant for radio but Lupe definitely doesn't need radio material. Just take a look on Twitter once in a while and you'll see how strong his following is online alone. For this track, I'm actually glad he went this route. Loved the lyrics and although he did label it controversial himself, I think it will be controversial in a good way. Lupe is back!” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Adrienne Mack-Davis - “Echo Back”
“Damn. Here's something you don't hear every day, and I love it. That hook is crack and her flow on the verses show a lot of diversity. With a style like this, AMD can definitely stick around for a long while.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Kidz In The Hall - “Pledge Allegiance to the Dope”
“From meeting these guys 4 years ago when they were starting out, to seeing where they have come musically, is just satisfying and humbling for me. Double O has evolved tremendously on the boards, and Nawledge is easily one of the most respected MC's out there for true hip hop heads. He stays hungry, and a week doesn't go by on any hip hop blog where you won't see something new from him. As for this song alone, it should really get people buzzing on their Brain Candy series. It just may be the best weekly release since GOOD Fridays.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Governor - “Wish Me Luck”
“50 Cent is cashing in those feature checks lately, especially with up and coming breakthrough artists. Props to both of them though - they need a big name artist to buzz the record and help them break through, and 50 Cent is staying hungry but also cashing in $200k for every 43 sec of rapping LOL. As for the song, easy to see why Governor was able to recruit Curtis. Mad talent all the way especially on the vocals, and it's refreshing to see him remain a highlight of the song rather than get shadowed off 50 and the beat.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Justin Garner - “Love You Long Time”
“Agree with the listeners, I think the time is close for our friend Justin to get major labels on his back. If this track went through a major label upgrade it may be a chart topper with a little mastering and perhaps a few lyric alters. But you can't deny Justin's ear for good music and his voice which may be better than half of your favorite artists. Good look here.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Phil Adé - “Used to Be”
“Hearing a lot of Phil on the booth lately, and I'm also hearing progression and talent. After hearing several of his songs, I'm officially a fan with the way his style impacts a track. This indeed had a throwback feel to it, but Phil kept it 100 with his approach making it a fresh enjoyable listen.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

XV - “SmallVille”
“What a professional and great debut for XV's major label release. So proud of what the dude has accomplished over the years and excited for the future. This record was indeed deep but I love the fact XV will still stick to his formula and give listeners a sound they're not used to hearing. Fire.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wiz Khalifa - “Roll Up”
“Let's get right to the point.: This will be a huge hit for Wiz. And for the record, I'm in full support. An absolute PERFECT sound for his second single, from the amazing Stargate production to the chill flow Wiz takes on here. This will hit the charts immediately, and once the warm weather comes around this will be playing everywhere, from the car with the windows down to your local house party.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Jon Hope - “The Bottle”
“This record is dope. Real different sound on the production, and Jon Hope is really impressive over the track with a unique style. The sing-rap blend reminds me of Cudi but there really isn't much more of a comparison. Smooth hook as well, this is nice.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Freeway - “P.A.”
“How does Mac Miller get a feature on a Freeway joint? Crazy! Opinions aside, this is pretty hot fire. Freeway was just meeeean on this, and Mac's flow is dope. I can't hate on him anymore. I just can't. The dude has skills.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Rittz - “Full of Sh*t”
“Cosign Z, adding that I love how this track brings energy and a strong Southern flavor. Yelawolf ripped it IMO, but Rittz is undoubtedly a name you'll be hearing more of.” cb126405's Rating:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
