#Section80 Promo Photo Kendrick Lamar - “#Section80”

“i don't know when this happened, but Kendrick Lamar has emerged as the closest thing to Pac we've ever seen. This man is a true visionary and talent, and this album is proof of that. Haven't stopped listening.”

Lasers Promo Photo Lupe Fiasco - “Lasers”

“So to start this review, let me say that I have had a long history with Lupe. As most people know, he was one of the featured rappers on Kanye's Late Registration, putting in a stunning guest verse on album standout Touch The Sky. Food and Liquor dropped, and as i was only 15 at the time, i had my pops run me to the store to buy it the day it came out. The day The Cool came out, my parents knew how much i loved Lupe and they bought the album for me on the day it came out and had it waiting when i came home from school. Now, all that being said, I was disappointed in my first listen through of Lasers. it is CLEARLY not the album Lu wanted it to be. Despite this fact, there are around 8 to 10 songs on here (itunes edition) that are just absolutely wonderful. The album suffers from being too short and having a more mainstream feel to it, but that doesn't bother me too much. What's annoying to me is some of the electro-pop beats. After getting over that, however, I found a thoroughly enjoyable album that, while not living up to the near unsurmountable hype of his first two albums, still packs a punch and warrants repeated listens. Thank you Lu, and eff off Atlantic. Until Food & Liquor 2 drops, this works. leggo.”

Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang Promo Photo Raekwon - “Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang”

“Nathan hit it pretty much on the head with the review. Raekwon consistently drops dope music and doesn't seem to be slowing down. He's come into his age really nicely and is making regularly some of the best music of his career. Wu Tang Forever.”

The Greatest Story Never Told Promo Photo Saigon - “The Greatest Story Never Told”

“legitimately, a classic hip hop album. nathan said it right, he doesn't do any one thing the best, but he does so many things so well that it's just insane to listen to. Just blaze makes the perfect backdrops for saigon to spit those thug/socially conscious lyrics that he's become so renowned for in the hip hop underground. So glad to see an album like this get released in today's hip hop scene. (lookin at you wocka)”

Death of a Pop Star Promo Photo David Banner - “Death of a Pop Star”

“After many listens to this album, it is easy to see Banner's progression as an emcee from his MTA days. Personally, i've always been a big david banner fan. I think he consistently comes with dope lyrics and hard hitting beats. I was very excited and a little nervous about hearing this album, since i didn't know how the two styles would mesh. Nathan hits the nail on the head about them both being veterans that refuse to change their ways. And it works somehow. Great album. 4.5 stars.”

Passion, Pain & Pleasure Promo Photo Trey Songz - “Passion, Pain & Pleasure”

“This album is one of the best R&B albums to come out in recent memory. Songz has proven himself time and again to be one of the best young R&B artists, and this addition to his catalogue is no different. Let the baby making commence.”

Loso's Way Promo Photo Fabolous - “Loso's Way”

“Okay, So i completely agree with nathan on the point that Loso is very hard to categorize in the world of hip hop because there isn't really one area where he fits. Personally, i love this about him. I think that it makes for albums that show a lot of different styles of songs. His first two albums were good and established him as an artist that was very versatile. His third album, in my opinion his 2nd best album, showed even more of that versatility, while possibly spreading himself too thin over 18 tracks. From Nothin To Somethin was dope, but too many features. Loso's Way is above and beyond his best album. The punchlines are back, he has an impeccable ear for beats, and he can craft a hook with the best of them. There are a few missteps throughout, but that's the same with most albums. Best song: I Miss My Love. Loso tells an epic crime story that rivals some of the best crime stories told in hip hop. If only more of the album had moments comparable to the great moments in hip hop, we'd have a classic. At least he shows that he's capable. 4/5.”

Exit 13 Promo Photo LL Cool J - “Exit 13”

“was not expecting much from this album, i wasn't really a fan of todd smith or the DEFinition. His older shit was incredible though, and he comes back hard all over this album. excellent showing by LL, american girl is probably the only sub par track. and even that song is decent. great album, LL will definitely be rocking well into the next decade, he shows no signs of slowing down. GREAT ALBUM!!”

The Recession Promo Photo Young Jeezy - “The Recession”

“Okay, first of all, the review was good, but i disagree. I think the album is very, very good. Jeezy is one of the most charismatic rappers in the game. His voice is perfect for hip hop. That alone should boost the score in some form, because he really makes music that nobody else can. Nobody has such an awesome voice. The album bangs. Not a classic hip hop album, but a classic trap rap album. Excellently done, very enjoyable to listen to. Banging beats with the lyrics jeezy is known for. Highly recommended. Tha Carter III Untitled- Nas L.A.X.- Game The Recession- Young Jeezy Greatest Story Ever Told- David Banner ^^ top five albums so far this year.... Haven't heard GZA's yet, and RZA's was close to being in there.”
