Marcus W. Somerville's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

Kent M$NEY Kent M$NEY - “Nothing Like Me”

“It seems like wherever good music is, Big K.R.I.T. is not too far away. The production is preposterously good!”

I Bet He's Nice Promo Photo K. Sparks - “I Bet He's Nice”

Jay-Z Jay-Z - “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)”

“Swizz Beatz!!! (RR!) Jay-Z, is the physical manifestation of contradiction! He has assumed the forefront of confused artists, followed by David Banner and Khujo Goodie, with his "heavenly father" line. Cannot go wrong with Bono, that guy's amazing. Probably, should have taken sole ownership of the hook. Rihanna's sound in this song was strange, yet gratifying, except when she attempted to harmonize with Bono. ("Give me that sh*t b*tch"- Bono) I like the intentions though. Jay-Z=2 Rihanna=3 Remnants of U2=5 Swizz Beatz=5 Overall=3.75”

Trey Songz Trey Songz - “I Invented Sex (Remix)”

Yelawolf Yelawolf - “Good to Go”

“Yelawolf is super sick wit it. In this song he had that blitzkreig flow (fast, but lucid) reminiscent of the old Busta Rhymes. And Bun B is always reliable.”

D-Black
D-Black - “No Ordinary Love”

“Panthers fan in the building!!!”

“I got you sparks. I'm with GStan10.”

Rain Rain - “Gimmie”

“LMAO "sucking her own nipples, I promise I got a winner", goddamn dude...SMASH! I'm with Z on this one. That beat is ridiculous, but, I actually enjoyed the hook (Rain harmonizing with the sample, almost). Not bad, in my opinion.”

Louisiana Cash
Louisiana Cash - “Boss”

“I was not expecting that at all. Oddz.N.Endz revealed his pocket rockets (lol not the rockets you're thinkin' about Ladies, even though with that beat, I can understand the possible confusion). That beat hits too hard and Louisiana Cash sounds like the Young Buck and the old T.I., which is a plus in my book.”

Obie Trice Obie Trice - “Got Hungry”

“I found out who ate my Pop-Tart. O_O The production here was solid. I can't put my finger on what it reminded me of. I never really listened or paid attention to Obie, but I will (do so, in the future).”

Marion Write Marion Write - “Much Appreciated”

“"carnival-esque beat", spot on again Nathan. A goofy sounding track, but I think it's a masterpiece(Trade Voorhees is on to something here) that should be respected. Who is this guy??? In the rotation and then some.”

Jovi Rockwell Jovi Rockwell - “Ben”

“If this Ben character is real, I think he just busted a nut. Jovi's signature sound made this seemingly generic (Christina Milian & Stacey Orrico adapted) beat into a possible hit-record.”

Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg - “Candy (Drippin Like Water)”
