jaydeemorgan's TOP HIP HOP SINGLES

k-os k-os - “Faith”

“This song is great, and actually it wasn't because of Drake. Drake had a good verse, but the flow and lyrics from k-os (who I had never heard of) and the smooth production are what really impressed me. I have had this on repeat in my ipod since I heard it.”

Kid CuDi Kid CuDi - “Mr. Rager”

“Great production, great vocals, this is probably my favorite song from MOTM2 besides Mojo So Dope. This would have fit in the first album, hopefully there are more songs like this on the new one.”

D.C. Don Juan D.C. Don Juan - “Rock Wit You [Premiere]”

“I love the production here. combine that with the smooth hook work, and a good job from Don Juan and you have a very good club-ready track. This track especially i like because there's something about it that separates it from the usual formulaic club tracks other artists do. I like it.”

Kid CuDi Kid CuDi - “Mojo So Dope”

“I like the production here, it's the highlight here to me. Kid Cudi's vocals and the hook fit well also. Overall i like the song a lot. However, it does have a quality to it that seems...how do i describe it...hazier i guess. I've liked this and Erase Me, but I don't think that MOTM2 will be nearly as good as the first.”

Bun B Bun B - “Put It Down”

“The production is good, Bun B rhymes are good and I really like Drake's work on here. It's good, but not as great as "Uptown" was. It still gets a four. I usually don't listen to a lot of Bun B, but "No Mixtape" and the songs from Trill OG have been great. The new album should be a good one.”

XV XV - “Squares”

“This production is great, and fits XV perfectly. XV's verses were pretty good as usual and i liked the hook. A great song. I'm glad to see XV's talent finally recognized by a major label!”

Marky Marky - “Purple [Freestyle]”

“Nas' track Purple is one of my favorite songs, and Marky does a good job holding his own on it. Good job for a freestyle.”

Mike Posner Mike Posner - “Please Don't Go”

“In terms of pop songs, this is great. I like the production, and Mike Posner's vocals sound pretty good on here. Usually I am not a huge fan of pop songs, but I like this.”

Wake Up Everybody Promo Photo John Legend - “Wake Up Everybody”

“The combination of John Legend is a match made in heaven, they sound great together! The production was good, Common's verse was great and Melanie Fiona did a good job too. I am pretty excited for Wake Up Everybody, which should turn out great!”

Erase Me Promo Photo Kid CuDi - “Erase Me”

“I like Cudi's vocals and the production, it's different for a hip-hop record, but it's good. Kanye's verse was average, he can do better. Overall, i like it.”

“Nice track...I like the production and J. Cole's lyrics are strong. 4/5”

Drake Drake - “Do It All”

“It's alright, and the more I listen to it the more I like it. But like Nathan said on RefinedHype, it just doesn't grab you like other tracks on Thank Me Later. The production is pretty good, Drake's lyrics are above average, the hook is the worst part for me. 3.5 out of 5.”

Slum Village Slum Village - “Lock It Down”

“The beat is definitely great (R.I.P. J Dilla), and Slum Village handles it well. A banger production-wise and lyrically.”

Welcome (Gotta Go) Promo Photo Black Milk - “Welcome (Gotta Go)”

“I like the production on here, it really grew on me after a couple of listens. Black Milk's lyrics ae on point. Overall a nice track. Somewhere between 3.5 and 4 for me.”

Rick Ross Rick Ross - “Free Mason”

“I like this. The production is pretty good, Ross wasn't bad, Jay-Z had a good verse, and I like John Legend's hook. Overall a solid song. I liked "Live Fast Die Young" a little better than this, but both are solid. Though I do like Rick Ross, I usually don't expect him to put out so much quality work like what he's shown for Teflon Don. I definitely have high expectations for the album.”
