Aesop Rock - “Zero Dark Thirty”
“A genius masterpiece by one of the best lyricists of all time. Every word has multiple layers of meaning and metaphore. Discovering what he means and what it means to you is a worthy journey in and of it's self. And sonically it's amazing. I suggest looking up the lyrics and following along. What at first may seem like a random jumble of rhyming words will reveal it's self, by intention, slowly. With references to Shakespeare and classic American literature it may take some research to understand, but it's worth it. Just know this guy does not choose his words lightly, and every part has meaning. The over all theme of this song is about indie rappers trying to get signed, but it's also so much more then that.
